I plan on having kids and raising them as nerds, but for the time between their birth and them turning 10 I'll give up. After that I'll probably stay into gaming for life, everything else I've tried is boring.
I''m assuming that by then (it'll be a little over 42 years before I'm 64 years of age) we will have holo-decks or at least some form of awesome VR so gaming as we know it will no longer exist. Why control a virtual avatar around some fantasy world or post-apocalyptic nightmare when you can experience the action and adventure and excitement first-hand. But I figure that this kind of thinking is ridiculously optimistic so barring holo-decks and impressive VR my answer will then be: yes, I will still game, but only casually. I'll have bills to pay and grandchildren to spoil, you know?
I'll be dead before then. If I'm not, I still probably will. There hardly goes by a day where I don't play them, even if it's only for a little while. If I outgrow games, I might as well outgrow music and books.

I've also met an 80+ year old grandmother in an MMO. So assuming I'm not dead by then, I will still be clutching a mouse -- or whatever futuristic interface contraption is the norm -- in my shaky liver-spotted hands. I wonder if they will have LAN parties in retirement homes... popping nitroglycerin instead of Mountain Dew... oh yes, I can see it now.

I have a feeling that pretty soon any young people will be gaming...If I plan on having kids (and thus grandkids)...Or just random young members of the family, I want to be that cool old guy that they want to be around...not some guy just reminiscing on how I had it worse or how things were different when I was young...
I mean, I loved my grandparents when they were alive...But I knew more about technology than all of them put together...Board games were a blast, but those will probably be phased out in the future...So I still will need a way to enjoy time with the younger generation...

It's a legitimate form of entertainment, so I suppose I will. Assuming I'm not dead in a gutter somewhere about 15 years beforehand.

Okay, I'm currently at the grand, young age of 16. I've been a gamer since I was two years old. I can safely say I will not be playing games when I'm a senior citizen, as I can't even imagine myself still playing in four years. I mean, I have to force myself to pick up a controller, and I'll go a week or two without the urge to play games at all.
On top of that, the gaming industry just doesn't capture my passion anymore, and it's only going to get worse. (I'm looking at you, Activision, you unoriginal bastards.)

Old people still do what they did when they were kids (so long as they're physically incapable of course). My grandma still painted and sang right up until she popped off. My grandpa grew up staring over a hand of cards and he's still the most brutal poker player I know. He took me and friends for two hundred bucks!
I suppose that what I'm saying that right up until my hands are too palsied to grip a joystick I'm going to keep riding on that Highway to the Danger Zone. Besides, maybe by the time that I'm sixty four, we'll be able to use the power of our minds to control video games.

I will be gaming until my fingers fall off. Hopefully I'll be one of those cool, savvy old guys and not one of those senile/pissed off/ignorant old guys. My grandpa is sixty-eight and he's stronger, more educated and more active than either of my parents. Hopefully it runs in the blood.
