Switching between Fallout 3 and Team Fortress 2 has gotten me killed so many times. Because in Fallout 3, the Y button is Jump, and in TF2 the Y button is taunt. Needless to say, while trying to escape, I stopped... and died.

Only is a problem in real life, one or two incidents of trying to counter a non-existent attack or my mind forcing me into hand-to-hand maneuvers because of my sparring experience when there was only a minimalistic call for it.

Playing Counter-Strike after playing MW2 is not a good idea. You will destroy your 'v' button only to realise you have to scroll to your knife in CS.

Switching back to Street Fighter from Blazblue got me punished. I tried to do combos that don't exist in that game. I didn't let it worry me though. Street Fighter is waaaay too slow anyways.

Switching from Halo 3 to Modern Warfare is dangerous I tell ya! The reload button in Halo is the grenade button in MW. WHO THE HELL MAPPED THE CONTROLS FOR THESE GAMES?!!

Um, yeah. In Super Smash bros melee I instinctively dodge around to the back of someone, sometimes they don't actually turn to attack me, and isntead have a nice open shot at me after the end of my roll. Grr. I usually can dance around them as much as I desire but every once in a while I'll do it at a stupid time and get hit hard.

Every game, I do it.
Especially Mass Effect. I keep logging grenades when I want to reload, then remember there is no reload.
I did that at least 10 times in a row. I felt like such a dumbass :(

That made me laugh a little bit.

I don't play Xbox that often, but after years of playing with a particular A/B/X/Y face button setup on the GameCube, I often hit A on a 360 pad when I want to hit B and vice versa.

I became real twitchy from Modern Warfare 2 and shot everything that moved. I transferred over to L4D and I got booted off for friendly fire.

My friend has 2 controllers, each of which have the opposite buttons for shoot and grenade in call of duty. We were doing the mission where you break into a building and I threw grenades instead of shooting for the first 5 attempts!

The grenade/reload dilemma in Mass Effect is the one that gets me. I don't really play enough shooters to have any trouble there, and RPG controls are usually pretty similar.

For the most part, I adapt pretty quickly. When I switch games, I usually do a little "exercising" in the spot where I load. It doesn't take long for me to get used to it, though.

I can't even begin to tell you how many times I got crouch and grenade wrong because of L4D.

LB in L4D is crouch, in Borderlands it throws a grenade.

Many an accidental death ensues.
