I play MW2 or whatever competitive game I'm currently addicted to on my PS3 so the controls are associated with that controller. Most on the games where I don't plan on multiplayer ever I'll get on Xbox (Bioshock 2 for instance). It works too :D

Been playing the Mechwarrior: Living Legends beta quite a bit recently and can't even begin to count how many times I've accidentally ejected from my Mech when I meant to do something else. Stupid F key. I could change it, but then I know I'll just end up fumbling trying to remember what I switched it to on the many occasion when I genuinely need to eject!

Curses!

I went from 360 COD4 to PC COD4 for an all nighter.

I won every match by a god load of points despite not playing Shooters on PC too many times, right?

Well, it was funny, cause at about 3 in the morning, without the effects of any sort of sugar.
I became twitchy, VERY twitchy. And whenever someone ambushed me from around a corner, i would physically jump while wasting them with a few rounds (to full clips)
The result was the same in the end.
But the twitches were so damn funny.

(oh and i think the default COD 4 for PC's melee is in the worst position. )

Played L4D2 after a week's benge of ME2, tried to reload on L4D2, ended up slaming the door on the safehouse and got my team huntered, smoked, jocked, and boomed all in one deadley swoop

lucky for me, i explained it to them and they where ok, in face, they where mad that i played ME2 and one person yelled at me asking me why i wasent playing that now.

Often times, I tend to switch around games when I'm bored. However, this tends to be a dangerous tactic for online shooters. I've thrown quite a few grenades when I meant to crouch and also got my head blow off by sniper fire when I didn't crouch behind a convenient crate. Other times, I mix up the sprint button with the crouch button, and also get gunned down...Has muscle memory ever betrayed you like that?
I went from GRAW 2 on default sensitivity (which is very tight and slow) to MW2 on 10 (twitch and spin). I was swinging around like a drunk. Literally couldn't aim to save my life for a few matches.

Within Modern Warfare 2 I instictively throw grenades when in trouble which is a pain when I have put a tactical insersion or a throwing knife in my grenades slot.

And in both Prototype and Modern Warfare 2 I have found that years of crazily clicking my troubles away have come back to stab me in the back now I don't seem to be actually able to break a dogs neck in call of duty or win in a wrestle with a super soldier.

Reload on Uncharted 1 & 2 is R2. On CoD R2 is grenade. That's a lot of suicide by grenade!

Worms Armageddon 2 on the 360 has 'X' as jump, that's right, 'X' of all bloody buttons. This leads to me frequently jumping my worm to it's death when attempting to fire a weapon.
I feel your pain, thought it is hilarious when you've got a bunch of mates watching. :)

Shoulder button acceleration in driving is quite new to me and I don't like it all. It's so counter intuitive it's driving me insane.

I stopped playing Left 4 Dead in favor of Half Life 2 earlier, and have to remember that Y is the flashlight, not up. And I cannot melee attack with the left trigger in Half Life.

I have been switching back and forth between Ninja Gaiden II and Borderlands, depending if I was by myself or if friends were available to play co-op. In Ninja Gaiden II, the button to interact with objects is the same one to throw grenades in Borderlands. So whenever I switch over from Ninja Gaiden to Borderlands, I'm always throwing grenades at the vending machines. My friends must think I hate vending machines. At least it's just silly and not leathal like in the other games people have mentioned.

Yeah, in Far Cry 2, Q is your grenade button...in most Valve games, and what I set for CoD4, Q is my "switch between two weapons" key.

Shooters mostly i usually play through some single player to get used to the control again before going to multi player.

Also when i play soccer and then go to sleep at night i kick my wall, that might be more dreaming though, but even when i haven't played soccer in awhile i kick my wall so egh.

Someone startled me at work and I dropped the blender I was holding into the sink and reached for a side-arm I didn't have.

They gave me a weird look. I let my coworker deal with them, and went and did inventory.

Ooh, games?

Yeah, Rainbow6:V2 and then playing the CoD demo. Or playing Any shooter after playing any other shooter.
