Um, whats with the literally/figuratively folk?

"I literally died" is just a figure of speech.
"I figuratively died" sounda retarded and up-tight really. "I am using a METAPHORE you dumb fuck".
No, you are not. "I died" in context, is a metaphor (there is a spellchecker). The word "literally" is used to distinguish truth from metaphor. You don't have to say "figuratively", just don't say "literally".

I've never heard anyone use the word "bogan" to refer to people who aren't, you know, bogans. Also, I see your a Collingwood fan. I wish I could hug you right now.

OT:
When people say "That movie/game/TV show, etc was shit" and then treat that as the end of the conversation.
Normally I try to stay away from such black and white terms, but other people seem to think their opinion is the word of whatever deity you may happen to believe in.
That's a Carlton logo by the way. After the weekends game though, a hug wouldn't go astray.

Don't know where your from but in the western suburbs in Melbourne, where there is quite a diverse array of different cultures and ethnicities, any white Australian is generally labelled a bogan. This is regardless of whether traditional "bogan" like characteristics exist in their character.

I'm incorrect to say that its use has increased everywhere in general. But on a more domestic local scale where I'm from it has, and this has just been my experience mainly through high school, and part time work. I have a strong Australian accent, but this does not make me a bogan.
Apologies, I'm not exactly in touch with football, but I'll still go with Collingwood on my tips. Purely because my late grandfather supported them, and its one of my ways of remembering him.

A pretty dodgy suburb in SA. We're not very ethnically diverse, we've got aborigines and white Australians. The only people I've heard reffered to as "bogans" are the ones that spend their Centrelink money getting wasted on the weekend then ***** about not having any money.
Same reason why I go for the blues, thanks to my dear pop.
You should be supporting the crows, they're on fire at the moment, looking at a good chance at the premiership as well.

Be wary in Victoria, the pies are very much hated, and in Melbourne collingwood fans are jokingly referred to as bogans as an insult (And is another reason why I felt the use of the word has increased). I'm all for collingwood jokes and the like, but I won't ever call someone a bogan, I just think its a dirty word and its wrong to embrace it.
I was doing the Eagles every chance I got, 'cause they were undefeated for some time weren't they?

I'm going to Melbourne in August. I'll make sure not to take any Collingwood propaganda.
They were but they were beated well quite recently. Still a safe bet though, sounds like your tipping the right teams haha.

and there is a mentality in Melbourne where everyone gangs up on collingwood. Even Collingwood's membership drive went with the phrase "IT"S US AGAINST THEM" referring to the group hate towards them. It's all a bit of fun though and not serious in the scheme of things, so be proud of your one-eyed pieness. But dont put up with being called a bogan. Stay classy Darth Carr

The "Plan of Nature" or "God" or the "Cosmic Plan". Bleh.

When People say something that amounts to "we shouldn't be meddling in the cosmic Plan" or whatever. Or "we shouldn't be tampering in Gods Domain".

First of all: If there is a Cosmic Plan and/or a God, which i highly doubt, i don't know it. So i can not act knowingly against it. If there is a allmighty God around, i can not act outside of his Plan in any way because i and all Decisions i could possibly make are Part of that Plan.

Apparently some People think that we, as a Species, are nearing the height of Hubris when we "meddle in God's Domain".
One might also think it'd be the height of Hubris that we have the Ability, knowingly or not, to meddle in God's Domain without him knowing.

Which would be a rather logical thought. But then again, only if you do believe in an allmighty allknowing being.

"Thats retarded." Irks me to no end. Same thing with "Thats Gay." You are insulting someone based on thier preferances or a mental disability by using those phrases.

That one "Im Offended. Just ignore it." that people post when they want you to shut up. So, I cant be offended is what youre saying? I cant find something offensive and wish for it to stop? I would be that the people who post that would be offended by some things I hold opinions on.

"X is for kids."
I can understand if they talk aboutcertain things that are specifically aimed at kids, but they often end up criticizing entire genres or cultures.

You know what else was designed for kids? Boobs!

There are a lot of things that bother me.

Like talking during movies in the theatre,
people who bring small children to movies that they shouldn't,
people who go to a place to be scared and then tell you "don't scare me/my friend/s.o./child(seriously why would you bring small children to something billed as NOT for children?),
people who say "I could care less" instead of "I couldn't care less",
People using the word "irregardless" because it sounds stupid,
the phrase "am I the only one who?" no you idiot, there will always be someone else who feels that way or has a similar opinion,
"is that game for your boyfriend?" no you fucker, it's for me because I play games,
"is that your boyfriend's car?"(referring to my light red geo because I have star wars figurines taped to my dash and metal gear solid 4 dog tags hanging from my rear view mirror),
people seeing me in public and assuming that I am either younger than I am or that I'm buying things for my "boyfriend"(seriously why can't I just be single and not be assumed to be dating a boy?),
and the one I hear constantly "do you speak spanish?" "no" "well then we can't hire you/you aren't qualified for this job then"(seriously? This is Southern California, we speak English as our native language. WHY do I have to learn a second language just to get a job because people refuse to learn the language?).

Oh and "I'm not homophobic but...." or "Not to insult you but...." because usually the first one they make a very homophobic comment after and the second they want to insult you without you getting insulted.

You've got those where you live too? We do here in Sweden as well! Which is why I'm sporting a Japanese first name.

On Topic, when people criticize someone who made a decision they don't like, for instance the police shooting someone, saying "There must have beena better way." No. You don't get to say that. You don't get to say that there must have been a better way, or criticize their decision, unless you can actually tell us about this better way. Otherwise, how can you be so sure that there really is a better way?

People who say 'Water doesn't quench my thirst.'

Water -does- quench thirst.

Your body has been trained to expect a sugar rush every time it drinks liquid due to all the sugar we use in our everyday beverages. its not that you are not experiencing a quenching of thirst, your body is merely missing its sugar intake.

When people say "Hate" mainly becuase the word Hate is actually describing an intense feeling of dislike, rather than a minor dislike in which it is currently being used for. I mean heck when people say Love and Hate are 2 sides of the same coin (E.I. They are the same strength feeling except one is a positive feeling about something and the other is a negative feeling about something) it kinda shows how off mark the usage of the word is...

When people keep saying "Don't swallow chewing gum, it'll get wrapped around your heart and you'll die"

People who put commas before "and". I know they're both correct, but it just looks bad to me. It's also a waste of ink, since not having a comma isn't wrong.

Also, people who say online acronyms (LOL, etc. ) out loud when saying the actual phrase wouldn't take any longer.

Also, people in Dark Souls who kill you when you bow, flask, chain BS, etc.

Also, people who say "my bad". No, just no.

I seem to get annoyed easily. That or there's a lot of things to get annoyed over. :/

Well, since we are all part of the cosmos (assuming it exists), it would be kind of impossible for us to "meddle" in the plan, since we're a part of it. One of the things that annoys me the most is the assumption that humans are fundamentally different from animals. That humans are special and "unnatural". Everything that wasn't made by humans is "natural" until humans interact with it because they're apparently aliens?

And apparently God fucked up and let humans happen, since we're apparently not in the "plan"? The whole idea is just kind of silly. And how can we meddle in the affairs of an almighty, all knowing being without Him knowing? That is, of course, assuming such a plan even exists, since there is nothing indicating either way.

When people say "I don't like/understand it, so I'm not even going to try it". Really irritated me when my friend got the lowest math score out of us all and he said "I don't like math and I don't understand it, so I'm not even going to try to get better at it". He just accepted the fact that he sucks at it not because he doesn't try but because it's math.
