"Today's music is all shit."

Hear hear. I think the only one to equal that is "I'm 14 and listening to (The Mars Volta, Free The Robots, ZZ Top) instead of Bieber, I must be so weird and the only person to listen to this band. How cool am I for not being conformist? Hey? Hey? Hey?".

"Atheism is a religion"

Yes, just like how not smoking is an addiction.
Hardcore believer who will ram their opinion down your throat, tells everyone they're stupid for taking as truth their beliefs, and in general being a rabid fundamentalist who no-one likes.

Now, did I just describe a follower of a religion or a follower of a non-religion?

Alternatively, think of it as love, hate and apathy. Religion, atheism, agnostic. There are two opposites and one neutral, and from in the subjective opinions of a fair few people, religious and atheist are flip sides of the same coin. Both decide the other has no place in this world, both will attempt to undermine the others belief system at any opportunity, and they're generally rabid nutcases. While agnostics are the fence sitters who profess belief towards neither, leaving their options open as it were. That sort of mindset will usually (in my subjective experience) lead to a more inquisitive mindset. Great for group research assignments.

In the case of smoking... I smoke and you should too, I don't smoke and you should do the same, I don't see the need to inflict my opinion on either of you. Or I Don't Smoke, all uppercase. Think of it as a non-smoker as opposed to a Senator whose campaign involves campaigning against smoking at all possible times. Not all non-smokers/atheists are like that of course, but enough are so as to give the general population a decidedly dim view. Alternatively, just think of it as any time a system of thought has people trying to convert others to their point of view, it's a religion. Unless you're thinking purely in forms of technicalities in which case no deity and obviously it's not a religion. Like Voodoo, and Scientology.

Oh god this. I work in a fast food place, hearing someone start a 7 item order with "I need" makes me want to slap a Giraffe with a flaming Ice Cream truck filled with angry Bees.

"Fuck my life," because the people who say it in real life RARELY have any real cause to use it.

"My bad". Really? It's your bad? Is that my dinner fork in your head? Whoops, my bad! Grrr.
Oh and using "of" instead of "have" or "'ve" with would/should/could.

When people can't distinguish between "your" and "you're".
English is not my primary language, yet we learned that shit in 3rd grade.
Why are there so many native speakers who can't even grasp the most basic shit of their own language?
Probably to do with the fact that English lessons(at least here in Ireland)tend not to focus on grammar since it's pretty much assumed that we know how to speak the language to begin with. That and the fact that people are stupid

OT: "X is the "WORST THING EVER MADE"

This annoys me because it seems that a lot of people these days cannot simply express dislike for something without resorting to hyperbole.Something isn't simply bad it's "horrendous,an abomination, responsible for all the evil in the world"etc.

"I haven't seen/read/played x but here's my opinion anyway"

Two words for you - FUCK OFF
I quite enjoyed X. The later ones were better of course, but still it was the closest thing to Elite I'd played in years.

This is more of a local one for me as I love in the West Midlands in England! I've lived here for a few years but one of the main things that people say that really pisses me off is "He/she gave it me". No they didn't! They gave it TO you!

Another one is when people say "I ain't cared!" That really does my head in! Completely gramitcally incorrect and ain't isn't a word!

A big one for me is when people miss the letter t out of words, such as "can I have a glass of wa-er" It's waTer! There's a bloody t in it! Argh!!!!!!!!
I know that feeling, I used to live in Derby and these exact same things used to annoy me xD

When someone who has no real argument about something calls someone "entitled" like it means something because they disagree with the other persons point of view.
Yea, it seems to be the latest cop out that someone will use when they know they're wrong but want to use a word with more than two syllables so (they think) nobody will think they're an idiot.
The funny thing is that nobody seems to even want to use it correctly so they end up making themselves look like even bigger morons.
Then you have to figure that at least half the people who overuse the term probably just don't have any sort of thought process of their own and just say it because they think others are winning arguments with it.
The sad thing is Publishers really have managed to dupe a lot of gamers into thinking that they aren't actually "entitled" to anything for their $60; further ensuring that all of us are going to continue to get less and less.

Witness this example.
Besides not knowing what entitled means, this guy says a bunch of other stuff that's so stupid, it's funny.

When a CS major taking pre-calc says the line "When will I ever use this?"

And now I'll remember them forever.

Actually anyone saying that line for any subject. Saying that is like saying "I want to get through life knowing the least possible."

Or he/she doesn't have an interest in it and would rather not learn it if they don't have to.

OT: I really dislike it when people say "life is short".

I get really irritated when people state their opinions as fact. For instance, if I'mdiscussing a movie with someone, and they say "That movie was shit." It's something just about everyone does, but it just gets to me. I do my best to say "I think that movie was shit" or "That movie was shit, in my opinion." It's a small thing, but it really bugs me.

That, and when people say "I could care less."

It's couldn't, dammit! Couldn't!
Yup, these. Especially the second one.

I hate it when women say they don't dress to appeal to men, unless they are a lesbian or an other sexuality that does not involve an attraction to men. Like a bisexual with a girl preference, that's okay. But why are they wearing low-cut tops if they don't want to use their mammaries as a man-trap?

I hate when people say "I hate it when people say [something that people very rarely actually say]" I'm just thinking, "your just spouting why your better than everyone else." it's fine if it's actually a common thing, of course. But if it's rarely mentioned or relatively obscure, no.

There's more. But I can't think of them now.

Anybody the Critical Miss comic where she did fan mail and one of them went," Am I the only one who like," whatever. I don't hate that phrase I hate the phrase that followed:"No, you're not, you fucking clown."

It's really annoying.
