I don't see why they'd make it. FF VII is out on PSN.

hopefully, it will never come, and here are my reasons, before all the FF7 fans rape me.
1. the forums on this site would be filled with threads about.
2.it will give fuel to the fire's of cloud/whoever cos players(i don't wanna walk down the street's seeing that.
and 3. when it does come out, the FF7 fanboys will most likely start whining about it not being what the original was.

Everyone's different, but I just don't understand how a fan of the Final Fantasy series can be okay with delaying a new title in lieu of prettying up one that came out over a decade ago. Maybe some fans should take it upon themselves to create one like the guys who are doing Black Mesa...*runs off to see how Black Mesa is doing*.
Hmmm, well truthfully I do think the game has become enough of a classic where they should do a remake. They DID say it won't happen though. I don't know what it is about the Japanese but their brains seem to be slanted in some wierd way. We have Sony's comments through the years, especially about the backwards compadibility thing, no FF VII remake, and then apparently someone over there thinks that consumers are stupid and that the PSPgo is a good idea.
That said I'm not holding my breath, by the time they decide to do a remake I doubt anyone will care anymore.
Right now I'd like to see them put Xenogears and Chrono Cross into the PSN store, along with maybe the first Front Mission.

I never thought about it like that, makes sense when you think about it. Personally, I don't think Square Enix will ever make a remake of it, and even if they did I probably wouldn't buy it because I already know the entire storyline and conclusion. You can't buy a game based on graphics alone, they would have to add to it somehow.wolfy098 said:
IMO a true remake will never come. The sheer size of the game makes it prohibitively expensive and Squeenix is damned if they make it, too much like the original and they're damned as lazy, too little and they're damned as putting the FFVII logo on a different game.wolfy098 said:

Though FF7 is over a decade old now they should just leave it along now. They've made a film and spin-offs from it. Let it die peacefully.

It's still kinda a lose-lose for Square anyway. If they don't make it, then fanboys will keep crying for it. If they do make it, then somebody would probably cry out that it's too similar to the original and that they're being milked. If they change anything, then someone's gonna cry that it's different and therefore not as good as the original.

yeah, no if they were going to remake it they would have by now, and besides why 7? six would be a MUCH better option for an enhanced remake.

need I remind you ff7 had horrible graphics for its time look at the sega dreamcast game nights into dreams made a year before 7 had beautiful graphics that far surpass 7, in my opinion 7 could have looked a lot better but didntVoid(null) said:
That is always one of the most frustrating things. If you're going to whine and moan until a remake is made, you have no right to complain that(for example) "Miss Cloud" isn't as funny as it was in the original when the characters still looked like geometric shapes. Nothing is ever as good as a remake largely because it's become over-glorified in the minds of fans. You hype yourself up so much that, no matter how hard the designers try, it'll never "compare." I really hope they DON'T remake it....and maybe spend all the money on making a really good new and original game instead.....robert632 said:

I think SE should never have made that PS3 tech demo. Fans were clamoring for a remake even before that came out...but once it did, it just increased the FFVII fanboy buzz tenfold. If they have no plans for a remake ever, they should have known it was going to be more of a giant tease than a display of graphics.
I seriously doubt they will ever remake it. But would I be shocked if they did? Even 5 years down the line? No. FFVII is turning into Square-Enix's Mickey Mouse. And that's coming from a fanboy.
