Around 4 years ago, when I last had a girlfriend. That was awesome.
This.

Or failing that, when I was around 9 or 10, back in the good ol' days.

The first time I actually fired a gun. Call me crazy, but that's probably my best experience in life so far.
Same.

A few months leading up to my 16th birthday I started bonding with my grandpa and he showed me his guns and for my birthday he arranged for me to learn to shoot. After that he gave me his 16 gauge. Those several months were jam packed with awesome.
I think the new happiest time of my life will be Friday, when I take the 12 gauge I bought to the range for the first time.

For me it was probably this past spring semester of college. I joined a fraternity (where I go to school they are almost completely unlike the stereotypical fraternities that you see in movies), and met some people who have become some of the best friends I've ever had.

My life's not exactly hell, but I wouldn't say I'm ever happy with it either. SO I'm probably going for when playing Mass Effect. Yes I clearly have psychological issues to say that, and yes I'm cool with it.

I was thinking about this the other day. The last time I can remember being truly happy was when I was about eleven. Before jobs and high school. Back when there was no stress at all in my life and the days were just a blend of hanging out with friends at school and hanging out with friends at home.

For clarity I said "truly happy" because obviously everybody feels some degree of happy at times, there's no way I've gone nine years feeling miserable or I'd have done something about it. Recently I've always had a little undertone of stress or irritation or something trivial like that whenever I've been happy.

With any luck, I haven't had it yet.
I'd like to say ^ this pretty much is what went through my mind.

However, with respect to 'my life so far', every 'happy time' I've had is followed invariably within a year by some shit that has completely fucked me over.

So, 'happiest time of my life', the day and the subsequent couple of weeks when my then girlfriend informed me she was pregnant. Depressingly, neither of us could stop crying... and I'm about to, again...

Wait 'till I'm closer to the end, boyo. Then, I'll be able to answer properly. I've had alot of good times, but I'm feeling that they're not even nearly at an end, so let's not be asking me this question so soon.

I'd say at around 6-8. Awesome times. It was a time of both innocence and friends, now any friends I have are not innocent, and neither am I. Seriously, Pokemon, Digimon, Dragonball Z, childish fun with my friends, not a care in the world. It is getting hard for me to remember that feeling, it feels like such a radically different way of thinking to the way I am now, like trying to empathise with a llama, or a magpie.

The whole year of 1999. Pokemon was at its peak, I still lived in new york, the dreamcast was released, and I was still care free. Man those were such great times

Hmmm. Tough question. I have a very positive outlook on life, so even though I do get mad and ticked off and annoyed and depressed, they don't stick to me for very long. While I'm not all sunshine and rainbows (people like that creep me out and get on my nerves), I have a general blanket of contentedness that permeates my day-to-day life.

So, if you are asking which moment in my life was the happiest? I'd be hard pressed to remember any specific one.

But if you're asking what time period of my life I was happiest, it would either be childhood (when ignorance and innocence allowed me to be happy), or today (when inner peace and acceptance of others are the choices that have made me happy). I'm happy because I choose to be happy, which in my opinion is the only way to really be happy anyway. And it's not because I purposefully lie to myself that the world is better than it is, but because I accept that the world is what it is and embrace the things that make it great.

After writing all that, I just realized how Buddhist I sounded.

EDIT: Here's a quote I just made up based on my spiel, which I'm quite proud of.

"Anger, sadness, elation, and confusion are reactions, but happiness is a choice." - Me!

Learn it, live it, love it.
Yayy, a like-minded person! :)

Nay to all those pessimists, who don't realise that being unhappy (which DEFINITELY is a choice) won't make your life any better.. Not that it's really their fault though, you just have to have the luck to be enlightened/enlighten yourself :)

Yay happiness!

Also: awesome quote :)

Okay you're either someone pretending to be Justin Bieber, if so, get off this site. If you're actually Justin Bieber, get off this site.

OT: I can't think of one to be honest. I have that sort of personality where I'll lucidly recall bad moments but can't for the life of me ever remember a good time. I've always been pretty lonely in life, mainly because I'm rubbish at making friends. Plus I do suffer from depression and the last few years have been pretty dark (crawling out slowly now).

Some happy times I do remember are usually when I've had a girl friend I've properly clicked with. My last one was just that, she was great. But now I'm just my unhappy self.

NOT highschool, anyone who says that is fucking lying....in fact why the hell would you say that to a highschooler? seriously that would be enough to drive some to suicide

My happiest time might be when I was 5 or 6 or maybe a brief moment in high school.
I always tend to look back on my high-school days and look at all the opportunities that I missed.

Actually, secondary school was for me so much better than university that it's just ridiculous. I really loathed my last two years of university, and I regret and resent almost every moment of the last four years. I think that was the proof for me that there was almost nothing worthwhile about being an adult.
really why? I mean it couldnt have been that-........oh wait its you...never mind

thats the thing though

at first thourght I could look on a certain period in my life...around 2004-2006 and think it was the best time...BUT If I were to think about how happy I REALLY was at that time..probably not much happyer than I am now, mabye even less (that said though the couple of years after that werent that great..but nessicary)

however good we may have it, we dont and pretty much cant apreciate it at the time

because It WOULD be a great time if I were able to go back and live it with the knowlege and everything I have now, But I cant and I think what people really mean when they say "its the best time of your life" is that it WOULD be if you went back now...not that it actually WAS from your perspective at the time

of that makes sense

and its best not to regret things

It is now. I am 23 years old, moved into my own place, and the new freedoms and responsabilleties make me feel happier then ever before.

For me it was highshool by far. But wait! Lemme explain: I was in a french boarding school where my class was composed out of 26 girls and 4 guys, me included, 1 of which was a stereotypical flamboyant homosexual. And that's just for starters.

My experiences of highschool are therefore not at all like the norm, for starters it was in the mountains in a small village, the only tv present was in the common rooms and only computers, let alone internet were both in the library. There lots of socialization going on and because we all lived together, the traditional clique division in highschool was lessed here, the geeks lived with the jocks who lived with the goths who lived with fashion afficianadoes who lived with the rappers who lived with the rich kids who lived with the poor kids(to use metaphors that most would understand).

Highschool before boarding school though... Let's just say I ended up beating up a rich kid who pushed me one too many times and got expelt for my troubles, and didn't see it as a bad thing at all. It was pure hell.
