The last time that I can recall Rage-Quitting and is to date the only circumstance under which I Rage-Quit in something other than a single-player game is in Dark Souls just as I was about to explore the new area added with the Artorias of the Abyss expansion pack.
I literally got invaded as soon as I reached the very first bonfire. That's the area that the main character arrives at immediately after they traverse the portal leading to the new area.
There is a dedicated PVP area now yet they still want to ambush people before they can get their bearings? Bad form.

2 hours ago while playing Splosion Man.. Stage 2-6, those damn laser-shooting flying robots kept catching me in mid-jump and knocking me all over the place.

Yeah, I'm not very good at that game. It bugs me.

Like a month ago in League of Legends.
I was playing Syndra mid and I was up against Lux, I could never get close enough to hurt her because Syndra's range sucks. But that was not all. We had two guys top, while the other team had a jungler, now guess who got ganked all the time. Yes, me.

I was already in a bad mood so eventually decided to just stop and say "fuck this" before any real nerd rage happened.
After that a friend of mine got all butthurt that I left and we haven't spoken since.
Joy.

Dark Souls. Fuck the Four Kings. It's been like two weeks, me trying every two or three days. Fuck.
The trick there is to forget whatever other type of character you were going for, whether some kickass mage or agile backstabbing person, instead equip full on tank gear, (Havel's full set) take a big fuck off sword, hold it in both hands then mash the attack button at one so it dies before another can spawn. Stop attacking to heal whenever you really need to. Do not try to dodge if you can help it and hope you can kill them before they get many attacks off.

Such a silly boss fight. This is kinda the best and only strategy for the Four Kings since if you end up going 4 to 1 you are fucked.
As it happens, I'm wearing Smough's armour. Combined with Havel's Ring, I'm still capable of going at full speed if I just wear the torso section, which I think is helpful because unfortunately, even when I tried to tank it, I just couldn't. Most of their sword swipes bounce off me, but when they stab it still deals a metric fuck ton of damage, same with their grab, magic, and AOE attacks. Apparently my shield is useless when it comes to blocking magic, so what I did yesterday was I went out and bought the Warrior's Round Shield, because apparently at Magic +5, it's the second best shield in the game for blocking magic, so I'm hoping that'll help out, I'm going to give it another go today. Since I've run up against a wall, I'll try to tank it one more time, too.
I've beaten them before, but NG+ is just.... argh.

I guess that would be Alpha Protocol.

The first time I played it I quit during the tutorial.

First off, there was the worst dialogue system I've ever seen in a game.
An NPC asks me what approach I wish to use to take on several armed guard while I have no weapon. The dialogue option I picked said "Ambush".
What my character actually said: "Hey, set off the alarm! That'll get their attention!"
Me: *facepalm*
NPC: "Hey, are you sure that's a good idea?"
Me: "No! No I do not. Someone stop him!"
My Character (without prompting) : "Yeah, do it!"
Several seconds later a couple of armed guards burst in and start shooting my character in his fucking retarded face.

Then there was the animation that seemed to be a refugee from the mid 90's. Seriously, I've seen games from 2001 that animated better than this shitheap.

Then there was the shooting. A clunky mess in which your character, ostensibly a super-spy, takes ten seconds to aim a fucking handgun properly as you whittle away at enemy health bars while playing a thrilling match of cover-based peek-a-boo.

Finally there was the (mandatory) hacking minigame made nigh unplayable due to the craptastic PC port controls. Hey Obsidian, here's a free tip: a mouse is not a thumbstick. Crazy, huh?

That's when I gave up.

Later I went back and gave it another try (partly due to comments by folks on this very forum, you know who you are). Got a few missions in before realising that, in addition to the above, the game was just plain bloody boring.

Yeah, "underrated gem" my hairy arse.
i feel the need to point out that you aren't a super spy YET, that's kind of the point of recruiting you, is that you are raw in skills, and makes the game more challenging (also extra dialogue options for recruits)

if you treated it more like an rpg and less like a shooter, i feel you would've done alright in the shooter category. (not to mention by halfway through the game you can do headshots while on the move easily. if you are using pistol that is)

it does have some glaring flaws, but that doesn't stop it from being one of my top games ever (only reason why i quoted you was to point out the gameplay mechanic, too many people jump on it when it was MEANT to be an rpg shooter, not a shooter first.)

OT: FTL, I was boarded by 4 mantis's and of course they boarded right into my fucking engine room, killing my guy and the engines in there in probably 3 seconds, leaving half my ship damn near useless, and me being an engi ship, couldn't fight hand to hand combat for shit, so they then proceed to rape me into oblivion, while in previous ship to ship fights i'd won 10 fights in a row without being touched...

i fucking hate being boarded, god dammit.

Normally I wouldn't, it was more because of the guy who did it had been steadily pissing me off all day because he was never listening, he would jump into combat when we told him not too, chase when we told him not to, hang back and not participate in group combat when he was tank or had really good CC and generally just kept doing stupid stuff that resulted in fed lanes, his lane was ALWAYS fed.

Taking my pentakill was more or less the final straw in a 5000 straw box. I came close to another one the next day and didn't ragequit that time :p

I usually "calm-quit" If i'm not having fun i'll usually wait til the end of the match then stop playing.

The only time I have ever actually ragequit was in DayZ. Well several times actually because of hackers. They're actually the reason i stopped playing the game. What's the point in a survival game when at any moment some idiot can teleport the entire server to one location and then nuke them?

I love being boarded, It's a great way to kill off half the enemy crew if you know what you're doing.
As long as your med-bay is intact you can't loose your fight because you can tank out the damage either by fighting in the med-bay, or by fighting outside the med-bay and rotating who is doing the fighting and who is getting healed. If you upgrade your doors you can open the airlocks and watch as their life slowly slips away before they even manage to break out of room they teleported into. Or if you've upgraded your med-bay, you can open the airlocks and just sit in the medbay while you outheal the fighting AND the lack of oxygen.

The last time was while playing Far Cry 3, there appears to be way too many many bugs and FPS drops- when I couldn't handle it anymore I just stopped playing, hopefully there will be a patch to fix it soon, it's annoying as hell.

while normally that is a sound plan, i didn't have my doors upgraded yet and the enemy ship was still blowing me away in the process since i didn't have a guy on my shields or piloting.

as much as i love the game, it pisses me the fuck off the way the save functions work, how when you die, YOU DIE. this might be the only game in history that i've ever actually kept playing with that function intact.

also i haven't played much yet, so i still am figuring out what the best upgrades are depending on the crew/ship and when to get them.

this might shock people, but i've never done a ragequit.
There have been times that i just couldn't get through some part of a game, so i just closed the game and returned to it later.
I never rage.

I suppose you're right, 90% of the time when I lose at FTL now, it's because the game sends something my way which I cannot possibly beat at that current point in time. As for Permadeath well to me that's what the game is all about, if you could instantly reload your save and try again then that would basically make the game pointless to me even if i also find it frustrating at times.

Part of the permadeath thing, i hope the game gets a expansion/sequel/longer campaign, because i love the gameplay of it but it just feels too damn short (probably why the permadeath doesn't bug me enough to stop playing as it usually does in other games). i just had a zoltan ship (upgraded quite a bit with 3 zoltans/one human/one rock/2 mantis)in sector 8, kicked the bosses ass the first time (first time i'd done that) so i didn't know about the zerg rush technique it had in store for round 2, my ship was decimated before i could even take down the shields on the craft the second time, he dry humped his humans all over my mantis board party so they couldn't take out the drone system..

I think i'm done before i ragequit my rig out the window.

I've been playing Persona 3 The Answer lately
so... constantly, latest being 5 minutes ago

fuck this shit, it's all Tartarus only without the social simulation thing to break it off, so it's a lot more tedious

edit: ack, didn't see the last post date
does this count as necro?

Mario Kar-NO WAIT COME BACK!

Mario Kart Wii. Like, five minutes ago. I admit to loving the game. And I love playing multiplayer with people in the room with me, and online. So I'm trying to unlock everything in the game. The only thing standing in my way is the fucking single player computer. And not even just because of blue shells. I have had little trouble with blue shells screwing me over. You know what does screw me over? Every item that can affect me that everyone in the race behind fourth place can get. The computer just happens to use it when I am going over a jump, causing me to fall and go back a bunch of places. And it does this kind of shit almost constantly.

I'm not humble. I know I'm good at Mario Kart Wii. I also know there are many people better than me online, so losing there isn't so bad, as I don't go in expecting to win every time. And I know I'm skilled enough to easily beat the computer. So it is enraging that I'm being cheated out of victory at every turn, when I'm only trying to unlock more characters and karts/bikes. FUCK.

I'm too used to playing against human players, I guess.

Edit: Final thing, it is bullshit that you can't unlock anything when playing multiplayer. You have to sit down and play by yourself.
