Agreed; they are turning themselves around. look at thier line up of games recently and tell me you didn't respect EA for the effort they put into them: Dead Space, Mirrors Edge, Spore, Burnout Paradise and Skate 2.
Seriously what effort did they put into Dead Space? Because I'd like to know what you think they did that's so different.
Excellent game with great weapons and an above average story.

There is a big difference between EA and EA Sports. I would have assumed just the opposite, personally. I think that a minority of the people on this website would consider playing a sports game.

Shortly after the death of Sony, but not before Black and white 3, mirrors edge 2, and the next spore.

Considering Black and white 3 is going to get started around 2010, they will be around for a while still.
EA has the rights to that? Huh. I would have thought that would go to Microsoft along with Lionhead.

Its kind of of like saying you hate Disney because its the same thing every time. Why the fuck would they stop if they're making so much money. They don't care how shitty there games are. SO quit crying because nothing going to come out of it.
It's strange that you would mention Disney, they stopped making 2-dimensional cartoons because they weren't selling well. On anther note, Casual gamers like sports games because they can relate to it, they can't relate to games like Halo because they don't watch it on TV every Sunday.

I heard rumors Disney was gonna buy them, imagine the shovel ware then.
Ouch. More awesome games like Kingdom Hearts and Pure? How could we live with that?

If it was me I'd be seriously peeved if all of a sudden Madden 10 included Rugby rules as a method to "Mix it up a bit"
"What do you MEEAAN I cant pass forward?, What? Why are we taking a lineout?"

I cant see that going down too well
But then again, SSX Tricky was published by EA Sports, and that was an awesome game, mainly because they suspended reality and implemented things like taking your feet off the snowboard.

I want the Sims to improve more, and Im looking foward to Sims 3, so I hope EA never dies so I can get what I want.

... If not a better company takes over the making of even more improved the Sims games, then it would be fine with me.
I knew I hated EA for some reason, but I just couldn't remember why. Thanks now for showing me exactly why I hate EA.

I find the Sims to be one of the most boring and pointless games ever. I guess I really don't understand what's so interesting about controlling every little aspect of a fake little simulated person unless the whole point is to level them to plate armor.

These games can even be more addicting that MMOs. I have lost a girlfriend to the Sims (by lost I mean she dumped me so she could have more time to play the Sims and she thought that the Sim of me was more interesting than me. Talk about a blow to me self-esteem.) Not to mention I dislike the fact that they feel the need to charge 30-60 dollars for an expansion pack that they are bound to neutralize in a year because the new one will no longer of any use.

If mindless hours of controlling the simulated versions of all your friends is honest fun to you, then go right a head and have fun.

I dont care for that because I dont have any EA Sports games... See it has no affect on me because I dont get them... LEARN!

EA are gay because they not necessarily steal other developers games but they slap their tag around the place (Burnout, Sims, Rock Band, Battlefield). However I don't really care, I guess the developers get something out of it and EA does the advertisement and distribution.

Just like they all said... Stop bitching and get on with your life.

Well, they have for the last two games, so I was just making an assumption.

Above average story. So going to space then fixing the ship while being attacked by monsters? oh yeah his wife. He never speaks so how am I meant to feel anything for him? Also the audio logs are just rubbish and his wife is annoying. Each time she showed up I tried killing her .seriously thats what you call "above average story"? Well I guess if you've been reading the Halo books then yes it would be.
This isn't a clone of RE:4 its just a wanna be.

Capcom did the same thing with megaman, Christ how many wore there like 50 of them.

I think EA has turned the corner now. I'll wait and see how Battlefields: Heros / 1943 / Bad Company 2 turn out before I make a judgement though. If BF: Heroes ever gets out of its eternal beta state.
heroes is actually quite a bit of fun and I am actually happy that I got a beta key for it unlike when instant action first came out. I would say that the only free online game that gets close to it is quake live which is actually quite different due to heroes being very cartoony.

Indeed? Good... Just need the damn thing to get out of beta now so we can play it! ;)

I noticed on the forum they keep giving 'April 1st' aka April fools day as the release date.

Uh, addicted to Sims? What kinda sicko gets addicted to something like that? I play it for two days, and get bored with it. Then some weeks later I play it again for some days, before I play something else or do something more creative like drawing.

The whole simulator thing isnt my favorite part of the game really, I like building stuff and characters, its very helpful for me as an artist to be able to play around with facial shapes. I never make any of my friends or family, its boring, what makes you think I do that?

And if you dont like it, thats fine. But dont look down on people who play it, just becuse of it, even though I understand that you got hurt when your girlfriend dumped you, thats still no reason to believe everyone that plays the Sims is a brainless twat. Dont judge me like that.

Never said you were a "brainless twat", but I see where I made my mistake. All apologies for the offense...

I still hate EA and the Sims though...

ummmm... As long as sports exists and people want to make money it'll carry on spewing the same old S***.

However you could just laugh at the losers who goout and buy every tiger woods and fifa game instead of getting pissed off with them.

Brad new! Slight shift in physics more like.

I can understand people's aversion to sports games (I feel the same way about most racing games and fighting games) but NHL 09 is the best thing to happen to the genre in years.

Of course, since the NHL is ranked below arena football in the states it goes largely unapprciated.
