There is always the cheap, shitty alternative - the little game we all call "Reality".
Really shitty MMO by the way... No way to respawn, class selection sucks, and everything is way too luck based. Oh, and random encounters... blargh.
Plus, You'll be grinding daily Q's at the office instance from levels 20-63 to get yourself enough gold to buy even better mount & more bank slots.

EDIT: That level requirement 18-63 depends on server, In my server "Finland" we have about that level range :S

When the servers close down there will be millions of gamers understanding how mutch WoW sucks! Seriously the graphics models look like shit. (Somebody is going to say WoW got the best graphics ever and i'm just going to say that they cover shitty graphics with a bunch of bloom lighting or the far of camera view.) And gameplay I don't have to say any thing there.

P.S I will be glad that Blizzard isn't going to get any more money for a shitty game.

World of Warcraft was the most boring game I've ever played.

Don't say I'm a shooter fan or what ever, I've been playing a boring MMO for years and that was ten times funner than World of Warcraft.

Oh noes! What are all the Asian sweatshop workers to do when W.O.W. crashes?!

The unfortunate truth is that WoW will only end if/when Blizzard releases WoW 2.

Or Universe of StarCraft.
And that isn't going to happen. Ever. That would be stupid, because then they'd compete with themselves.

People will hold futile online petitions and riots, before everybody gives up and a brand new MMO comes along that will "never die." and the whole process repeats.

People would die.
There will be riots, strikes, demosntrations. The entire foundations of the Internet would shaken due to an overload of blog posts and angry forum threads.

Also: what would I do, personally? Nothing. Rejoice, because I'm a Guild Wars (soon Guild Wars 2) player at heart.

If WoW ended tommorow I'd go into hibernation for five days until The Sims 3 came out, and then I'd make the ultimate ultimate ULTIMATE virtual soap opera.

...and I'd make some Tauren skins...

I've been thinking... What will happen when the world of warcraft severs are finally closed. Imagine if there were no more MMO rpgs What would this vast majority of the gaming community do instead?

All MM0's shut down. IT would be a glorious day.

What is with all the WoW hate? Most people who play the game are not mindless zombies who has nothing better to do with thier lives.
Ah, but you missed the point of the thread. The spirit of this thread isn't "post what you think would happen if MMOs all shut down tomorrow", it's "express your derision and contempt for people who like things that you don't".

If "all MMOs" closed down tomorrow, the people who play them would not magically "get a life", cure diseases or have wild orgies. They'd probably find something else to play. Why? Because they're gamers and they like playing games.

I think a lot of people need to learn what a hypothetical question is.

I believe that if all the MMO's were shut down you would simply see those players moving to other 'hardcore' online games that survive mostly due to their social nature. I quit MMO's and now spend a lot of my time playing Counter Strike, so I see that as likely for others.

Nothing like fragging a few noobs while having a beer and talking with mates after a hard days work! ;)

people would have to start venturing outside, get a life and possibly interact with other human beings other than 'rolf lamo i pwan u fukin noob, u suck rolf nnnooobbbbbb' and lots of peolpe would need re-education on important subjects, like spelling and grammer
