That's because you're crazy.

Not crazy, just overly weird, I can get crazy but I'm usually just plain weird :p

(And there is nothing crazy about thinking your a divine messenger for clothing!...)

[sup][sup]Hey, some people pretend, and thats enough for me :p[/sup][/sup]

I'd been watching videos, and occasionly looking at threads for yeeeaars. (Ever since the first UF Realms. Before that, actually)
I decided to join, so I could post in one particular thread (Can't remember which one)
Didn't think I'd stay, but I did! Huzzah for the Escapist!

I joined because this place is full of basement dwellers like myself who don't follow stupid rules or are under tyranny from moderators. It turned out exactly as planned.

The fact you can post something related to the topic instead of being unofficially forced to reply to the last post is kind of a plus.

No, I did not expect to be here for over a year and a half.
No, I did not expect to become a legend.
No, I did not expect to become unknown a few months after becoming a legend.
No, I did not expect to get Neo.
No, I did not expect to make several friends closer than the ones I have in real life.
No, I did not expect to get a caring and loving boyfriend out of this site.
No, I did not expect to become such a snob and elitist.
EDIT: No, I did not expect to get sucked into RPs so hard.
EDIT: No, I did not expect to get so angry with the RPing community here. Damn those that join an RP for the hell of it and don't even fucking post.....

Yes, I did expect to become such a Grammar Nazi.
Yes, I did expect to watch every Zero Punctuation to date.
Yes, I did expect to enjoy the news posts.

I expect to be here for a much longer time.
I expect to slowly but surely get an even higher post count, separating me from the mass normies.
I expect to [If you're a member of The Neo'd, then you know what this is].
I expect to continue in my way of disliking 90% of the new members here.

Did I meet your expectations?
Code:
Hmhmhmhmhm-hm-hmm....
Well, from now on, there's going to be a lot less conversation, and a lot more killing.

I planned to join and be a nobody. As far as I know it has worked as I doubt people recognize me. I didn't expect to fall in love with Susan Arendt or love as many videos. But soon I shall make my claim to fame and try an internal take over!

I originally joined because someone had posted something retarded in the forums. I only intended to comment on that one thread...

Yes, I had spend more than a year reading on the forum before I joined. So I know what I could expect.

I just joined to watch zero punctuation. But I keep posting.
This worries me. The worst thing about youtube is the comments section.
I really really dont want to turn out like that haha

Oh, of course not. I went in thinking I would simply take a few quizzes, maybe post on a few interesting topics every now and then. Instead, my membership to the Escapist jumpstarted my life and sent me on a startling journey of self discovery and friendship.

Because the internet is just loaded with those.

I just joined to comment on 1 thread, and because I loved Zero Punctuation. I didn't think I'd post on over 300 threads.

Honestly, I never even thought about it. Right now I'm just hangin' around, posting and attempting to fight obscurity. I think I must have thought I would join to comment on the occasionally interesting threads on the side bar.

I came here in the beginning, as most people likely did, for Zero Punctuation. Then I noticed the amazing forums full of bright and insightful people.

And on the RP side, I never did any RPing on The Escapist, as I was sucked into a text RPG called Improbable Island. I quit playing almost a year ago, but still have some pretty fond memories of it.

I don't remember quite what I thought when I joined. I think I was drawn to the forums by some interesting topic names, lurked for a while, then saw some posts by MaxTheRipper, and how cool he was and how everyone looked up to him, and that I wanted to be like him.

Instead I got trapped in the RP section where I made a lot of friends and improved my writing skills, much like CloggedDonkey.

I didn't even know this place had an RP section. I just registered so I could reply to a post that interested me, then move on and pretend I was never here.

A day later I found the RP section, and I have been rather addicted to the site ever since.

I cant honestly say that i remember what i expected. Perhaps i expected puppies and muffins, of which there have been neither.

But i do not think that i would have expected it to be how it is, i'm much more involved in the forums than i can imagine myself expecting.

I thought I'd be like I am in every forum, slowly building up posts, posting things with my outrageous and admittedly usually offensive opinions and thoughts, and occasionally posting a brilliant joke. Is 'twat I have accomplished.

Not really. I expected to read some stuff, comment a bit and not really stay on it. Since then I've read every article from when I joined to now. I didn't expect to become as much of a fan of Shamus Young. I didn't expect to actually like Yahtzee's reviews/rants since the people I used to hang out with always said it was bad. I didn't expect to have as many friends as I do or be as social as I have been. I really didn't expect to find such a good group as the Aussie Escapists and I didn't think I would meet many fellow Aussies. But most of all I didn't think I'd get as into it as I am. I love this site for the community and the magazines and I hope I don't have to give it up any time soon. :)
