cutlery shops
I lol'd.

But yeah. Try some beauty parlors that carry men's products, maybe even some pawn shops. Or just ask a barber.
hey theres a shop in my town, just off mainstreet, that sells knives and only knives. pocket knives, machetes, steak knives, hunting knives, combat knives, yard blades, box cutters, commemorative blades, wallhanger swords, battle ready swords, and old school strait razors.
Oh, it's not that I didn't believe you. It's just the thought of a simple shaving blade being sold among blades that are used to carve and cleave meat amused me. You know, in a Sweeny Todd sort of way.
cuttin' is cuttin'. It shouldnt matter if you need something to cut up that fallen limb in the yard, cut the hair off your neck, or dice up that body in the basement.

I'm sure you can find them online. I doubt any major retailers would sell them. Maybe specialty shops?

Although, I have to ask, why would you want one? According to everything I've read they're a pain in the ass to maintain and they're dangerous to someone who doesn't know how to properly use one.

So yeah, where's a place that I can buy a straight razor? I have no idea.

The amount of bullshit posted so far is astounding.

There are lots of high end male grooming websites. If you take the time to learn how to shave properly with one and get a decent blade, badger hair brush, strop and soap (not foam) then you wont go back to the shitty gillette or other types. You will have amazing close shaves that no other method of shaving can replicate and you will have a regime which is relaxing when you get used to the ritual.

You will need to spend at least £40 to get a blade worth using though.

I have had good experience with

http://www.theenglishshavingcompany.com/

Also you only ever cut yourself once, then you learn to respect the razor and take your time.

------------

If you're going to buy one with any other intention of shaving with it, then grow up and don't be a dick. You will spoil it for the people who use them properly. If its for suicide then talk to a councillor, killing yourself only ever hurts the people who love you. If it's for hurting someone else then be prepared to spend a long time in jail or get shot.

If you are wanting one because you want awesome shaves...then welcome to the world of awesome shaves :D take your time, read up on techniques and the subject in general and enjoy the ritual!

Why do you want a straight razor anyway?

OT: Have to agree with guy I quoted. There's no real reason to get one. First off, they're dangerous, sharp, and you're putting them near your neck. Second, supposedly they are a pain to keep a proper edge on without a bit of practice. And I have no third reason. There's a reason they're not used anymore.
They are not as dangerous as one would think. It is easier to cut yourself, yes, but you aren't going to slash your jugular accidentally one morning while shaving. You have absolute control over the razor, it makes it both easier to hurt yourself but it also allows you to get the closest shave possible(I have to shave everyday when using a high end electric razor, 4 times a week with a single bladed safety razor, and twice a week with a straight razor. I am a hairy, hairy man).

They aren't a pain to keep a proper edge, they just require upkeep, unlike the disposable razors of today; you just need to strop before and after each shave and sharpen every few months. The reason for their going out of style is simple: people are lazy and cheap. They would rather pay hundreds a year on disposable razors and not learn how to shave properly, rather than spending around $250 once and learning how to actually shave

My uncle was a barber, he taught me how to shave with a straight razor, I've used one all my life and wouldn't have it any other way.

Oh I thought I'd become a serial killer, there's LOT of people that need a good neck shaving!
Wouldn't surprise me on this forum. XP

I've never used a straight razor so I can't say whether they're better or worse than modern razors. I don't think I'd trust myself with a big-ass blade going across my face though.
