Where did all the older Escapist users go?

I don't know where all the old members went. I wouldn't count myself as particually new, i've only just bothered to make an account. I've been reading this site for a few years.
Probably the easier to ban thing.

I use to post all the time, but as I went deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole of college, I posted less and less.

I still lurk and post time to time, but nothing like I used to.

I was lurking here since 2008 and I used to comment using my friends account.

I still remember the days when maxthereaper somehow magically teleported to every thread at ones ?..............whatever happened to him ? I know he got banned but I wonder is he still online somewhere .

I came here for ZP, signed up out of boredom, and got sucked into the forums.
While I have not posted anywhere near my first year's rate, I'm still around. Just not lately.
A mix of games and not having anything really worth saying in threads has kept me from posting for a while.

But a lot of older users either left of their own volition or got banned.
I haven't seen Ultrajoe, Labby, or a bunch of old guard in a long time.
But I'm sure they're both around.
Somewhere.
I refuse to let my guard down.

Nah, the oldguard has all but upped and left by now. There's like, two of us on IRC, me and Nuke. The rest pop in from time to time, but other than that they've moved on. Speaking of which, you should get on IRC more.

As for the OP, howdy. I for one spend all my time on IRC rather than the forums, personally. As for where everyone else went, it's already been covered. They moved on, packed up and shipped out, hit the ol' dusty trails. S'what happens. Time passes, people move along. Such is life \o/.

It's easy to get fed up of any site. I don't post much, although I still watch the videos. The very strict moderators can be inconsistent, and the forum discussion is circular, and has been said before. I read some of the threads, but beyond that I'm pretty much dead on this site.

Most old users have either left or only lurk. The ones that don't tend to be in User Reviews, Forum Games, or the User Groups. I hardly ever see a 2007, the only one I can think of from the top of my head is Manaman.

I'll get my Landmark badge in a month, does that make me an old Escapist?

I've always been in Forum Games with a few other old folk and occasionally off-topic but lately work and relationships have been in the way and with Christmas coming along I may be busier than ever. lol it's only a matter of time before I get permabanned. I have, I dunno, a lot of low-content posts that have gotten me in trouble over the years. I know I'll make the same damn mistake again. Last time I got put on probation for a little while, so I know I'm getting dangerously close.

I've been with The Escapist since 2005...but I only have 900 posts. I'm just not that active in the forums...Heck I didn't even sign up for the forums until 2008.
