Made it a family system, which leads to graphics arent as good, and they arent making awesome games for it because of that.

Nintendo would rather sell shit and make lots of money instead of sell gold and make less money. In my eyes, the Wii has pwned in sales but got ass raped in quality. You ever get the feeling that something you just said (or typed) is going to make lots of people hate you even though it's not such a big fucking deal? Watch all the Yahtzee wannabes tackle me just because I didn't mention No More Heroes or Mad World.

Ahh, not saying that Zelda and Mario are not good. Oh wait, yes I am. They have squoze every last drop of creativity and originality out of those games. Like every other Nintendo product. Go back a few years and yerrr, Nintendo was awesome.

I'm not a hardcore gamer, well I'm a PC gamer who's giving the wii a go because it's fairly affordable as are the games. I am a solo gamer mostly, and finding games I enjoy have been hard, so I chose random games I wouldn't normally play. I've fallen in love with Call of Duty: World at War, which I've struggled with in terms of console controls and split-second reaction timing, but it's fun and you don't get penalised for stuffing up too much. I found that FPS on wii to be a very enjoyable experience that can also become a two-player game.

As yet, my game repetoir hasn't gone beyond a handful of games, but I'm enjoying my wii. I was spending a bit of time thinking 'oh christ, what've I bought?!' but slowly I'm discovering games I'm interested in and games I enjoy. House of the Dead: Overkill is next on my list of games after COD.

thats a very good point you have...their not unoriginal...hell theres like 20 of each one of them it stopped being original after the 6th but i do still find them entertaining and...what does the 360 have? lots of shooters...and you know what...their all trying to be like HALO!!!!...or sandbox games which go after GTA....i dont have anythign agains the ps3 though...the ps3's cool^^...but not enough randome fun games like mario...too much grey and seriousness...for me gaming is supposed to be about fun and fun is...bright colours and goofyness...(no im not gay!)...but rather something that can lighten or brighten your day...a shooter cant brighten your day (well maybe it can brighten yours...i may just be weird in that sense but w/e) a shooters all serious :s...and then theres racing games and sports games...but those are also...not...colorfull...not that i have anything against racing or sports games...hell i love nfs and the fifa series...just saying...the other systems r too serious (and i dont like a single one of the 360's 360 exlcusives...aside from the fact that theres no point in buying the system...you can get almost every damn game thats out for the 360 for the computer)

so yea...thats my opinion :3

Ach, I hate the PS3 |: And Halo. I sound like such a hater, hahaa. The Wii is by far the most fun with your mates though. Most shooters co-ops end up with scraps in my living room, but bowling and tennis on the Wii only ends in glee. And I agree, most Xbox games look like someones threw grit over everything and stuck in some mindless whores/zombies/aliens for you to vent your frustrations on.

The main problem is that the Wii defeated the whole purpose of itself. The thing that was going to make the wii awesome was the motion reacting, and half the games don't utilize it at all, and the other games do it badly.Generally, when I make a slashing motion like a sword, I want to use a sword, not sit there and do NOTHING while the enemies tear me to bits. Also, they couldn't compare to the games the other consoles made. I don't care that the past games slowly killed the series, I would have bought the new Ratchet and Clank REGAURDLESS. And with Microsoft slowly becoming more a nation then a company, series like Halo will keep it fueled forever. The Wii's selling point was a good one looking at it, but then once it actually came it destroyed expectations. My friend now uses his Wii controllers as paperweights when he turns his fan on.

Mad world would have been better on another console
its not just the devs throwing shovelware on the wii, nintendo is doing it too
its like a gigantic shit receptacle for most of the bad games in the industry

The Wii itself is fine, it's just all the bullshit shovelware games that are being released for it.

Last time I heard, Nintendo was rolling in the money. If it went wrong, no one at Nintendo seems to notice.

A lot of "Hardcore" gamers just don't get it. Companies don't ALWAYS care if you like anything as an individual, especially when there are millions of others handing over their cash for what they are offering. I said it once and I'll say it again and again:

casual games = large demographic, large demographic > individuals, large demographic = $$$ that's money, honey.

As far as Nintendo is concerned, they're coming out winners.
But as far as anyone above the age of 10 is concerned, Nintendo is slowly eating away at itself.
Not EVERYONE above the age of 10 agrees with that. I know several people over the age of twenty who are also hardcore gamers and they aren't complaining. Eating away at itself? LOL And how exactly are they doing that? They're grabbing more and more customers and making tons of cash. As long as they are making money and drawing in large demographics, Nintendo is here to stay and thriving. Sure they may loose a few fans, but they are small change compared to the thousands that replace each one. Business is Business and sadly Money makes the "World go 'round" in a way. As long as they rake in the money, they don't care what a few complainers have to say. When "Hardcore" becomes a majority demographic, perhaps then they'll listen.

All in all, when Nintendo starts LOSING money, talk to me then and I might agree with you.

Back in '07 I was given a Wii but within a few months the novelty wore off. The best games don't even take control of the motion controller and the lack of serious releases lost my interest. Wii Sports was fun for about a week, and Galaxy was the game that would've attracted everyone to this cute little console that stood alongside the mammoth 360 and PS3. But for Christmas that year I bought Pokemon Battle Revolution, considering I don't have a DS ( I fail to see the use of it), it was the worst game I have ever played. It lacked a storyline, the ability to gain interesting pokemon who leveled to gain interesting moves and had the most boring gameplay imaginable consisting of pressing A over and over again while pointing at the screen. I gave up on it after 4 hours and went back to Galaxy. I then awaited Final Fantasy to be released (Took a year) when I read the single customer review on Play.com, it failed. Apart from Super Smash Bros Brawl and Galaxy the console hasn't churned out a single decent original game yet. Cooking Mama sounds as interesting to me as general relativity does to an 8 year old. So tell me, what happened? Did I make a bad investment here? Am I going to be subject to numerous horrid Sonic games till I finally make the dive for a PS3? Did Nintendo stop caring about the general gamer when the general gamer stopped caring for the Gamecube?
I had a Wii for a good amount of time but my other 2 consoles made it irrelavant in my life
Todays gaming relies on a few expectations

1. Must be fun
2. primary target should always be gamers
3. Adverts must be with gamers
4. decent online play
5. Graphics that are acceptale
6. worth the money

If your going for a PS3 then go on after all i own both consoles now and i think the PS3 is more your moneys worth

Oh and Nintendo is a simple Corparate Bussiness and this is part of their Cycle

The Wii hasn't gone wrong--the Wii was never designed for the hardcore gamers; it was designed for casual gamers and for people who haven't really gamed before and aren't into the kind of games on the PS3 or Xbox. So in that respect, the Wii has done exactly what Nintendo set out to do with it, and Nintendo is laughing all the way to the bank while hardcore gamers cry about how the Wii sucks.
I agree with this completely, you haven't bought a hardcore gaming platform, you've bought an 'entertainment' centric package, which I actually have a lot of time for after my pre-release scepticism. You can't ask it to be something it's not, and while there are good games out there for the console, you're essentially saying it has failed you, which is an arguable point but as a console it has succeeded on a previously unknown scale, thus making you criticism somewhat invalid...

I still love Wii sports, free bowling woo! i also highly support the wii fit.
But other than that, i can definitely understand why people are turning their backs on the wii.
Good games are rare, and Great games are almost none existant for the wii. There are a few out there that i want to try, but won't be sure if they are any good until i play them, such as Mario Kart (for the wii i can see it being great, just need to buy a wheel with it) and Nights (i enjoyed it on sega saturn... or was it dreamcast? i can't remember lol i never owned either of those jokes, but Nights was a fun play).
Most of the games out there for the wii i wont give a second glance b/c they are obviously waste of time. overall though i still feel the wii is great for co-op/party play, and i still hold hopes for the wii

Like people have said: The Wii didn't go wrong. Nintendo can't do much about their console once its out. It falls to the developers.

Now YOU are a smart cookie. It's true, the Wii was advertised as a family-centric console and thus it's going to have a lot of multiplayer and E-rated games. How can it fail if it's hitting it's target dead on? "You can't ask it to be something it's not" You nailed it right on the head. You, sir, deserve a glomp *glomp*
