Ouch, at least compare the PS3 to the 3DO - It's trying to push boundaries and it's seen as expensive.
The Jaguar was horrible. One look at the controller and I knew I wasn't going to pester my mum for one of those.

I had a Jaguar, dammit. So I know just how painful that system was. I happen to own a PS3, as well, so maybe I just have rotten luck with backing the wrong racehorse. Seriously, though, the Wii didn't 'go wrong' or else it wouldn't be the marketplace leader.
I don't think the PS3 is the wrong horse. I have a PS3 also. No matter how much people scream about it failing and how it's lost 'teh woar', it's not failing and it's far from lost.

The decision to target casual gamers... altho that may apply to both the Wii and the DS

Who really needs a low-res camera on a gaming platform?

Anyone who wants to play games that utilize said "low-res" camera?

Consider plastering your ex's face onto the final boss in a hypothetical new Gradius game. >_>

The Wii never went wrong. The game developers who decided to put their crap on the Wii went wrong. People think that boring games with cutesy graphics and bad motion controls are ok if it's "for the kiddies".

This and:

WTF Nintendo, what happened to THAT meaning something. ya know as in, we wont allow so many shitty games on our console. I know all consoles has craptacular games, but at least in the past it seemed a whole lot more regulated when THIS meant something to both you and us Nintendo fans. I don't hate nintendo or the wii, but there has been so much squandered potential and Nintendo just looks as if they are standing idly by. There is a reason why most of the seemingly good games are first party, as third party devs seems to use the wii as a quick cash in or something.

New plan, who wants to make a development company, register as a 3rd Party Dev,and cash in on the desperate housewives ( not the show, the people who are playing the Wii)

Eh...I'd rather NOT contribute to the problem. If i were a dev I would be doing my damned hardest to make the most out of the motion controls and make the most kick ass FPS's with it.

Speaking of FPS games, has anyone ever tried that Wii Gun and is it good or bad?

The Wii didn't go wrong. It's a casual system for casual gamers.

The pistol-like gun is fine but I personally HATE the Wii zapper

Which one?

This one feels a tad awkward when you first try it since the trigger is at the front and not that back. overall it's not bad and it works, but I prefer classic gun orientation.

I prefer this one more, it's what I meant by classic orientation, feels a lot more "right". Just don't let your parents or Jack Thompson see you playing with it...or else they might think your training on a "murder" simulator lol :p

The NES had an insane amount of crappy games too. All the seal of quality means is that the software/hardware has been licensed by Nintendo, and won't damage your console due to shoddy assembly or lousy programming.

But the 8-bit days sure were the good days, right? Especially for the developers, who were forced to sign exclusivity agreements and basically hand over all their rights into Nintendo's hands just so they could release their games on the NES.

Neither Nintendo nor Sony or Microsoft will refuse a bad game the right to be released as long as the license is paid. It's not their place. As consumers it's our responsibility not to buy the crap.

They tried quality control on the N64 and what happened was that most devs were put off by having to conform to Nintendo's rigid standards. But hey those worked and kept crap off the console. When they relaxed them, we got Superman 64. Nuff said.

Superman 64 is.....ugh. Has there ever been a decent Superman game? As for the gun,the first one looks...unique,so when they release a FPS worthy of the motion controls I'll take the classic pistol.

No More Heroes is an intense game, get that right now!! Madworld is okay, and House of the Dead looks intresting, though I dont have it. If you don't have RE4, you could get that, too. Also, you can consider getting older games on the Wii Shop channel, and Wii Ware games, too.
Also, you could try giving casual gaming a try. I'm not much of a casual gamer, but I like the Rayman Raving Rabbids games.

That may be but it is fifteen quid for 2000 wii points, which is nothing really, and besides the rewards speak for them selves, and sure the games can sometimes be crap, and the fights on SSBB can be boring, but it is well worth the wait for some one who has played the game for more that five minutes to come along, i mean come on, is it that hard to play through the whole game? I used to have it, within a week I had everything. The only problem with the browser is that you can't open multiple tabs, but who gives a damn about that, really.
