Friends. I don't have many non-gamer friends (all of them have had varying degrees of experience with the industry), so a lot of them know what they're talking about and I tend to trust their judgement. Other than that, I usually look around the forums here to see if anyone's discussed it.

If I absolutely have to read a review, I go to ActionTrip. The guy on there is (usually) a good and fair reviewer and he is not paid off by publishers. I also like reviews here on the Escapist, but their reviews are fairly infrequent.

Main source is a friend who pretty much owns every current generation game out there.
Then if it sounds interesting, I'll go and check Mr. Croshaw's review of it for the bad points. Although I usually just watch it for the giggles.

I never really bother with any actual reviews. I just rent them and find out for myself.
Plus, free Gamerscore. What? I can be an achievement whore if I want to.

I watch a daily Reviews Show called Reviews on The Run. They're always entertaining, and usually close to my own opinions on games.
Awesome!
Every time I mention that show to someone, they have no idea what I'm talking about.

Anyways: I watch Reviews on The Run when it's on.
If I'm looking for a specific review, I usually just google it.

General user reviews, pretty much.

I've found that "professional" reviews are usually less able to give an accurate idea of what my opinion of the game is likely to be.

If one of my buddies already owns the game, I'll ask them or play it at their house. If not I'll just look at gameplay footage to see if it's my kind of thing.

I usually look for player reviews who ARE NOT affiliated with a major company. I find that reviewers who review a large amount of games (Like Yahtzee, for example) tend to become much more biting towards games when they normally wouldn't.
They may bring up good points on the bad aspects, but they seem to become so influenced by so many other games, that the inevitable, though at times minor similarities between games become a nail in the coffin for said game.

I get my reviews from X Play (There not that bad IMO) Yatzhee (There is some truth to what he says when he criticizes a game), IGN, and the opinions of my friends.

And then I make my decision.

I listen to any review I read/watch. However, I usually hit up IGN, the Official Xbox Magazine website, and Zero Punctuation. This way, you get the best estimate of a game's quality.

I go to Metacritic to see what the general consensus on a title is and then visit a few sites and have a look in Gameinformer to find out if there are any serious issues, such as game breaking bugs.

In this order: watch trailer (usually become excited by the game), youtube search for "*game* gameplay pc" (usually lose all interest and forget about it), youtube search for "*game* review pc" (the I watch another gameplay video, then I wait a week and think about it). Works for me.
