I think we`ll all get sent to one giant paradise because there is no way of telling if anyone was truly bad or not and then if we choose it we can go back to earth to be re-incarnated as something else but then again it`s only a theory.

Strangely, I don't believe I will ever die...

Death is in my eyes the absolute end, there's nothing after it. Not buried, not burnt, just the end. It might continue for other people, but for the one dying, game over.

But for me? Surely that won't happen to me. I can't picture not existing and I can't picture suddenly appearing in the upper- or underworld.

I don't about the rest of you, but I'm going to play some Tekken with Buddha until I get bored and then maybe see what else is going on.

if your soul survives a trial of sorts, you go to a great afterworld. If not, your soul is destroyed.

Most likely, I'll go to a hospital and have my organs and stuff ripped out for scientific research as to how I took SO DAMN LONG TO KILL.
You think it'll take a lot to kill you? Shall we test that theory? :p

Oh, that is far too easy to take out of context, buddy...

As for what happens when you die? Well, your body goes right into the ground...or a giant oven, and then a jar. Your "spirit?" Well, I'd like to believe the heaven thing (I was raised a christian), but you might just go *poof*. Who knows.

Death, we fear, because it is unknown, but death also makes us think, Should we live a pios life? Should we be altruistic? We have been told all of our lives that we should, so some great plainof eterna happiness hits us, or we will wake up as another being. But, in my opinion, I say that due to no sensory input, and no brain to provide conciousness, ourselves as we know it, through our eyes, go into complete nothingness, with nothing to see, so there would be no colour, black is a colour, so you wouldn't see black either, you would see no colour. No sound, sso it wouldn't sound like an echoey cave, no smell, no perception, at all.

You wouldn't even know you were dead, your brain wouldn't function, you'd have no memory, no anything. The closest thing I have to compare is a dreamless sleep, that fits most of the criteria, and in the end, jhust sleeping without dreams forever isn't that bad, is it??

Basicly, What I want to say is summarized here:

well i just think that once your dead, your dead. there is no life after dead. anyone who believes that there is life after death is really just trying to kid themselves that it doesnt matter that they have wasted their sad little lives as they can continue to live on in there make believe heaven or Valhalla. but the truth is plain and simple. you only live ONCE. then you are DEAD. that is what dead means. you cease to exist. you cannot continue to live if you do not exist. get over it.

As a Buddhist, I believe in the concept of reincarnation...it explains how humans keep being born despite how many have died and how, even after you're dead, life goes on. It's complicated. But to put it in a nutshell, when you die, that's it for you, but your consciousness gets recycled into a new body, completely at random. You could be Johnny Depp and Nicole Kidman's deformed lovechild, you could be a kid in Africa, a European born at exactly midnight, whatever. You just don't have any memories of your past life. You get to start over again and you don't even know that you did.

There's also a bit of fine print when it comes to reincarnation, that not everyone believes in, but it basically goes like this: since the whole point of reincarnation is to break the cycle and achieve transcendence or break the cycle of samsara, after you die, if you were good, you might be reincarnated as a human again in a better or equivalent position in the world, the point of which being that you've got to learn the last few lessons you have to learn before you can break the cycle. Whereas if you learned nothing and you were evil or sinful, you're reincarnated as something 'lower' than a human, like a lizard, or a frog. Or even a rock. And then I suppose you can get the chance to work your way up through the ranks.

But yes, that's basically what I believe. There's something comforting about being essentially undying, albeit without the whole memory thing, and I for one don't really WANT to break the cycle. Why bother, when you can be reborn over and over again?

What happens when you die? You cease to exist. It will be exactly what it was like before you were born, ergo, nothingness. Your body either rots, is burnt to ashes, is used for research, or is used to keep someone else alive. You, as a conscious being, no longer exist. Everything you did in life is essentially worthless, as was your very existence.

It's kind of strange reading how many gamers believe in an afterlife, w/e I guess. If people want to make themselves feel better by believing something with no evidence, that's fine. I'd rather back the most logical outcome, my own subjective emotional responsive to such a reality is irrelevant. And all the evidence points to a benign and indifferent universe, and no, that doesn't make me feel better.
