Its a level creator with some platorming and cute charactersPietho said:Indigo_Dingo said:Why has no-one said LittleBigPlanet?
It's a platformer with cute characters. Most people won't say anything about it in terms of innovation because "they don't make platformers any more," no to mention my favorite, "that looks stupid."
As for myself, I'm holding judgment until I actually play it. I'd buy it for the character design if nothing else!
That's cheap... you can't come in and say that and not give examples... it's not fair. besides... what you find as an innovation may be old hat to someone else.Avida said:This rant is about a year or two late. And if you really cant find any innovative or unique titles in the last 8 years you need to open your eyes. Dont make me list.
DOOM probably founded games like Halo (or at least that's what I've heard), and while i am still a Halo fanboy i'll say that Halo was is good game and leave it at that.Pietho said:FANBOY WARNING: If I see a reply about how HALO has nothing to do with DOOM and is a unique game I want you to know that I know you haven't been playing video games long enough to know what it is I'm talking about.
Shadow of the Colossus, Okami, Little Big Planet and Guitar Hero.Pietho said:What's the most unique game to come out in the last... oh... eight years?

Because people get tired of playing "tag" all the time and want to play "hide and seek"MCGT said:Why does a game have to be innovative to be fun?
I notice a lot of mentions of Call of Duty in this thread, did none of you enjoy COD4 then?
But just because you've got tired of "tag", does that make "hide and seek" a better game or just a breath of fresh air that you'll eventually get bored of as well.Hallow said:Because people get tired of playing "tag" all the time and want to play "hide and seek"MCGT said:Why does a game have to be innovative to be fun?

I did add something to the discussion. It was in the bit above the quote from you; it's not my fault you chose to ignore it. I'm just saying you seemed to be a bit heavy handed to him, and while I was rude (and I'd like to apologise for that), you can't argue that you weren't. I wasn't trying to argue, which is why I am still holding back on what I could say (and could've said then).Pietho said:OK... for the umpteenth time... why do you people want to argue. I believe that I've been talking about games that * I * find innovative and original, or actually the multitude that aren't.Geo Da Sponge said:Having a go at someone for trying to look big (which I don't think he was) seems a little hypocritical. After all, you were the one who was showing off how big your game collection is, and saying you know what's fun and what isn't based on how long you've been playing and how hardcore this makes you.
This thread isn't about me "telling you how big I am" and then you coming in like a 12 year old defending his 3DO. This is where we compare our comprehensions of reality and what constitutes innovation.
Etc. etc.
The Wii is the most innovative piece(s) of hardware to come out; probably ever.Fraught said:Wii Music and Wii Fit(hell, the whole Wii system, and a ton of games on it)
