Personally I would really love to see an African setting. South Africa would be pretty good, due to its high crime rate in certain areas and the presence of various engaging groups with their own ideals such as the Boers. Louis Theroux did two different documentaries on various aspects of South Africa and they instantly got me hooked on the idea of a GTA there. Furthermore groups similar to the Somalian pirates would be interesting.

Anyway, what are your thoughts?

New Orleans would be pretty cool. Killing random pedestrians is fun and all, but imagine mowing down alligators out in the bayou as a little break from all that city killin'.

Somewhere other than America would be great. Possibly in multiple countries like in Nico's home country, England and Russia. That would be awesome.

Amsterdam seems like the perfect city, it's famous for drugs and prostitutes, two things that GTA certainly embraces. A triangle of faux versions of Amsterdam, Paris and London would be pretty cool. That said, anywhere they set it is fine (though returning to Liberty would be a bit disappointing) as long as the game itself is good.

Suburbia, wouldn't it fun to jack icecream trucks, turn elementary schoolers into drug addicts, and find out how "desprate" some houswives really are. Sick concept I know, but look at some of the other GTAs.

Yeah, I am definitely in favour of multiple cities, San Andreas really benefited from that.

Aw, ninja'd.
My suggestion is either Toronto or Montreal. Or both, like San Andreas. There are large amounts of ethnic diversity in both cities, they're acutally pretty much microcosms of the entire world with representations of cultures from literally everywhere on earth. And they're configured differently from a city like New York, so it would look a lot differently

"In Spaaaaaaaace!!"

No, but, seriously. Somewhere not gritty-urban-not-New-York would be nice.
Maybe do a complete revamp of GTA: London 1969.
That could be awesome as all hell. My personal favourite of the entire series, to this day.

I dunno. The rumors say that gta5 will be set back in San Andreas. Or some los-angelos-esque location.

I like the South Africa idea. I'd honestly go for London or Chicago.

I wouldn't mind liberty city again, though.
