I was a part of GamePro. They actually linked to a Zero Punctuation video a couple of years ago, and that's how I found these forums. I actually quit the GamePro forums and started stalking these ones for a while before formally joining.

Guild Wars is AWESOME! I waited too long to get nightfall though and fell too far behind. GW2 will get the attention it deserves though.

I watched it turn from the quirky, useful information nexus into the shallow, contemptuous wasteland of idiocy it is today.
It is among the worst in a long line of contenders for Worst Internet Community Ever, and I do not say that lightly given the competition (youtube, 4chan, they are possibly the only contenders and solely because gamefaqs pretends to moderate its forums).

The Escapist has been a tremendous boon for me as far as internet communities go. I can vent, engage in fun or serious discussion without needing a 3 paragraph essay to justify it/preempt the trolls, or just learn about odd interesting things in the gaming industry.

Besides Gamefaqs, I used to frequent numerous Armored Core community sites, DIRT OLD Gamespy forums (Think "Quakespy". If you recognize that, you're welcome to join me in drinking my sorrows away) RPGNet, and a couple of dead tech-forums whose names I can't even recall.

I spent time in The Vault's forums before here though. Kinda cool, sorta like here, just a way smaller community. And Fallout obsessed.
