I highly doubt all the promises that ToR is making, but I'll wait and see.

The WoW killer will come from Blizzard. And only Blizzard. At this point, it's not just an MMO, it's a pop culture phenomenon, which means they don't even need advertising anymore.
IM pretty sure is gonna be call world of starcraft

Why does something have to kill WoW? Surely it's possible just to exist alongside it.
This is my thought, why can't game developers make a game for the sake of making a good game, I don't want another WoW, I want to see another good game, is that too much to ask for?

I think the a wow killer is like a windows killer, a possibility but a remote one. There is no reason with incremental updates to the engine why it can't go for another 5-8 years yet.

Looking for a WoW killer is getting priorities totally wrong, and is harmful to the game design process as a whole. Perhaps if developers tried to just make a really good MMO on its own merits, we might actually get somewhere.

I don't think there will be a wow killer. I think if anything wow will kill itself by doing something stupid, but i cant see that happening any time soon

WoW doesn't need a 'WoW-killer' to die, it will kill itself. It already is, and will continue to do so.
Time will kill it, as it kills everything.

I don't really think anything will kill World of Warcraft but with The Old Republic and Guild Wars 2 out next year you can bet it's going to have some tough competition.

TF2 Is becoming more MMO like maybe one day it will jump the gap and people will try a different MMO and find that FPS mixes really well with RPG
1960's the MMO.

You know, if someone could actually get an MMO for the mid 20th century America to work, that would be epic.

It won't die, without making a big bang. I've noticed my server is almost completely empty...slowly now, it will die.

Blizzard perhaps. I don't think that anyone will ever manage it though!

I hope BioWare will make some sort of Mass Effect MMO. Doubt it will ever happen though.

There will be no "WoW killer."

It will keep going until Blizz stop it. People have invested years and a lot of money into WoW. It's not going to suddenly be booted out of its throne.

Blizz might make another MMO (as has been rumored) but 'till them, enjoy looking at WoW. Fuck knows I do.

"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away

WoW will not be killed, rather the world around it shall change and it will eventually run out of people willing to pay X$ per month when they can just play something else.

Or Blizzard will be absorbed into its own stomach, but I hope not as I quite like Blizzard.

This. The only thing that will kill WoW is WoW itself.
That is quite true as their shit updates are actually making people quit or at least just wait for cata.
