Several years ago, I watched a Final Fantasy parody called "Cactuar and Tonberry". In one particular video ("Resident Cactuar", I believe), Cactuar was talking and said something about the 'Zeta Beta Omega frat boys'. I loved the phrase, even though I didn't understand any part of it: I didn't know any of the Greek alphabet and I didn't know what a frat boy is. Anyway, when I got an instant-messaging name, misremambered the words and set it up as ZegaFregaOmega. Months later, still unknowing of the mistaken name, it came time to purchase scool hoodies; I had mine printed as "Zega Frega Omega". Time went by, and a year later, after registering to different sites and such, I ran across the cartoon again, and realized the mistake I had made. But I figured there's no point in changing my name, so I stuck with it. Three years passed until I signed up for The Escapist.

I wanted to just use my name, Justin, as a username when we first signed up for Prodigy. Apparently there were 1461 equally creative Justins, because try as I might they WOULD NOT let me have just Justin, so I reluctantly took justin1462. I think we switched away from prodigy and then back, so they still had justin1462 "taken" so I was forced to switch to first initial last name....I kept the number

"Tron" is a handle I've used since the mid-90's, as it's fairly close to my RL name.
The "-tonian" comes from my previous residence - Toronto. A person who lives in Toronto is a ... Torontonian.

And "Tron" was already taken when I signed up.

Mine is my name and the abbreviation of an old company I used to run (and still own the logos for etc) and it just seems simple.

I never like to go towards anything which is too funny or of something specific because usually they become targets haha. Not that I wouldn't, just, for my own benefit and the lack of time I have to deal with it, its more for my own benefit :)

This is my nickname. Have had it since primary scool. I didn't socalise much, talked a lot about ghosts and had weird hippy parents that used to go hunting for aliens and looking at haunted places. My actual name is Dominic, hence spookydom. And thats the end of my story.:)

Welp, Salem Wolf is the name of the character I came up with a long time ago for a novel series (2000, to be exact), over the years I changed him bit-by-bit and when I started using the internet after moving in with my parents (long story and I can't remember previous names) back in 2005 as I didn't have internet in my room, I started with CyberNeticDragon. Buuuut I wanted something better and I didn't like dragons as much I did as time passed, so I just used Salem Wolf, the name of my character.

Been using it ever since.

Interests in cinema, ghost stories and haunted house stories etc, horror movies, and bushido.

Plus "Spooky" is usually already taken. Friends and randoms often default to calling me "Spooky" online anyways, so thats fine.

Additionally, I think spooky is one of those funny soundings word. Just hearing it (in context) is almost enough to beguile me to chuckle. It always reminds me of Scooby-Doo mysteries.

From a demon. It's Belial or Beli'yal (or ten million other possible spellings) so I combined the two because "Belial" was usually taken and it never allowed me to use the ' in the username. Why Belial? I honestly don't really know; I'm interested in demonology (and mythology and stuff like that) and since I heard about him, I felt a connection. Which is kinda sad, one of the explanations for the meaning of the name is "worthless". But then again, I like the fact that he is described as still being beautiful despite being a demon. So eventually, it kinda became my internet identity; it's fairly simple and yet sounds good, it has a meaning and it's never taken.

A trilby is a hat, but I think the 'y' at the end of the word makes it sound stupid. Thus I thought of the name Trilbi.
My other username is Roraito, which is the japanese pronounciation of L's real name.

I originally invented it for the chatting site IMVU. I was pretending to be ironic (I didn't wear a hat at the time - though I have done since).

I used to play mario cart on my DS with friends using the name CPU 04, since there already was a computer controlled racer with the name just to mess with them. Eventually I switched to Cpu 47 in an MMORPG but screwed up my character so I made a Cpu 46 and thats what I use today.

....

Riveting story, im sure.

Friend of mine called himself WelshDoom on XboxLive. He suggested I call myself AngloDoom when I get mine. Unfortunately, I lost contact with him recently. I still don't have Live, but I use it on game-related forums in case I run into him one day.

A combination of two older user names I had about 5+ years ago. SilverSonicBoomer and UchihaMAX.

The origin of those names:

SSB: Was originally SonicBoomer on gametalk.com. But when I heard about Sonic 2006 being released, I switched it to SilverSonicBoomer for the new character. Eventually, I just stuck to the name Silver because I like how it sounds.

UchihaMAX: first e-mail account (and most used still). Back when Naruto was still relatively new and Sasuke was still kind of cool. MAX was only added on because of the Simpson gag where Homer changed his name to "Max Power". It's the name you'd love to touch. But you musn't touch. It sounds good in your ear. But when you say it, you musn't fear! Cuz his name can be said by anyone.

I saw a documentary on PBS on the Blue Man Group. The dudes who invented it said that 3 is the smallest number you can have before people can start ostracizing others for being different. As part of the show, there is always 1 Blue Man who doesn't belong, due to weird behavior or actions. Thus, WeirdBlueOne.

I got mine from my parents, when they named me at birth.

I've been using 'Danger' as my middle name since I was 17 or 18, for shits and giggles.
