So before Borderlands was released there were like 20 different topics every day on the game talking about various things. We all know Modern Warfare is constantly being talked about, whether for good or bad. But I wanna know what everyone is thinking about Dragon Age: Origins which drops tomorrow! The reviews havent really started coming out yet but the first 3 that have are giving it above 90 scores. Im hoping it will live up to everything that is Bioware and be a class-leading game that draws 100s of hours from 1000s of people. I mean, this has to be a GOTY contender with a few other recently released games.

It's kinda funny that I was all hyped up about Dragon Age, but when I saw that Borderlands was actually well on it's way to be a goty contender, I was swayed by the idea of looting and committing mass murder (as in the actual gameworld of Pandora, or RL, got it?).

Well, like you said, it's BioWare so we already know it's going to be a good game in every way except when it comes down to how they deliver DLCs.

I actually bought Borderlands for the PC to play co-op with friends. I figure that will get my FPS/co-op addiction out of the way while Dragon Age will fulfil the story/fantasy bug i need to itch. Seems like a great two games to be playing.

I've seen very little on what you actually do in the game. I've read into some of the lore and such, watched a good few trailers but cant quite figure it. I'm guessing it's going to be an RPG seeing as it's Bioware. I'm looking forward to it, but it kind of looks like Oblivion, but with a more adult feel, but that might not be a bad thing.

I thought it was already released...

Anyway, seems great.
But I am one of those people who liked Oblivion over Fallout 3...

It's been gold for awhile but isn't released until the 6th.

I don't understand the Oblivion > Fallout 3 relevance to Dragons Age though.

It's out there, just not as out there as other Bioware games have been recently.

And yeah, a lot of people are raving over Borderlands, which I don't get because I'm too darn busy playing it to rave about it....

I'd be pretty hyped up for it if my video card hadn't taken a shit last night. I'm just hoping that the new one Dell is sending me gets here tommorrow. I haven't played a single video game for about three weeks and I've been dieing for this one.

Also, can't you read?

Don't compare Borderlands to FO3. They are completely different games, where Borderlands is a more actiony Diablo-y FPS with RPG elements, where FO3 is a story driven RPG with FPS elements.

Dragon Age != Oblivion
Borderlands != Fallout 3
Oblivion == Fallout 3 with Swords and without animated sex mod
Fallout 3 == Oblivion with Guns and a well made animated sex mod

I hate nitpicking, but they are all different games. But since you prefer fantasy games over shooters like I do, seems we are on the same 'side'. time to shoo away those guns-toting fouls! shoo!

Most Bioware fans are smart enough to not pass judgment on a game until they play it.

Hmm I'd go for Dragon Age = Baldurs Gate. I don't think Borderlands has as much in common with Fallout 3 as Dragon Age will with BG.
Oblivion is very similar to Fallout 3 however, so if you only like/don't like the games because of the setting (post apocalyptic or fantasy) then fair comment, but the gameplay is totally different.

I can read fine it just makes me want to quote you more. :)

Dragon Age is already out (I think) for 360, or at least pirated (check piratebay). As for the hype, it's pretty much like Oblivion (perhaps done right, from the previews I've seen). The magick as least looks cool as hell, so it might be worth a try down the line. But it just doesn't have the appeal of Borderlands billions of crazy guns, like rocket-launching six-shooter shotguns.

Huzzah for the imminent release of Dragon Age, which I've already pre-ordered on Steam. I am going to be so sleep deprived for the foreseeable future...

Personally I am psyched for Dragon Age. If it doesn't get over hyped I'm fine with that. Bioware has a long track record proving themselves. This will be another such game in that long list of greats. As for "Game Of The Year", hard to say. There is some decent competition out there. Especially with Modern Warfare 2 dropping in next week. But RPG Of The Year, is a pretty good reality since Mass Effect 2 isn't hitting until January.
