Decided to see if anyone had moments when they did something spectacular, thinking they got their enemy or where they were travelling was safe, only for the completely unexpected thing to happen.

For example, I was playing Red Faction: Guerrilla, and after blowing a huge chunk out of a building, I was quickly surrounded by quite a few troops, and ran inside said building. Since it was still standing, I figured myself pretty safe.....until the entire building began to collapse as a vehicle nearby exploded, bringing the roof down on top of me.

So, have any instances where that rocket "killed" that guy, and when the dust cleared, you stood up and put a round into your face? Do share!

So on my first play through of Fallout 3, I was roaming the wastes and I had a crap ton items to sell and was in dire need of stimpaks. I look on to see a nearby bombed town called "Old Olney".

"Oh goody! There surely must be a shop around here."

I was so wrong.

Playing Fire Emblem i would box myself in a small area to take out a large group of opponents.

After several turns id finally have most of them taken out and only a few and the Boss would Remain.

So i would break the group and start to move toward the boss only to be met by PALADINS AND HEROES OUT OF NOWHERE.

NOT COOL INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS.
NOT COOL.

No, I don't usually commit suicide after epic moments like that.

OT: Blue Shells in Mario Kart. You pass your opponents, force your way into first place, and everything's golden. You make that final curve, approach the finish liBAM. Spin out. Fifth place.

God damned, that brings back a lot of memories. I'd slowly shuffle forward, only for the enemies to eventually put me in a position where I am likely going to lose people.

Damn it, where were those guys BEFORE I stepped forward.

Mirror's Edge, I successfully jumped and spun my way through the lobby area in the last level and shut the elevator doors as four machine gun troops opened fire.

Safe!

"WE KNOW YOU'RE IN THERE!"

You then have to jump around in an elevator shaft to escape. -__-"

It was even more painful on some of the longer maps.
Like the one where you haft to save the prince or that one right before the final chapter.
Being the OCD and sap i am i couldn't stand to loose a single character, even characters i knew i would never use!

Id also send out my units like my General or Warrior to take out small group of opponents only to have a high level Mage or Sage appear from a fortress.......

Fun times man.
FUN times.

Oh man, I used the stinking warp stick to make the prince one easy. You only get....three uses, if I remember correctly, but it made that a HELL of a lot easier.

But the only time I would ever send someone out alone is if they were Paladins or Pegesus knights. I wanted them to be able to book it if things went bad.

And yeah, I hated losing anyone too.

"I dragged you through 27 chapters, I'm NOT losing you this close to the end dammit!"

I have excellent luck with units.
My Oswin(General) would have max ATK, DEF, SKL and a high SPD and RES.

I could stick him anywhere and he would survive.
Plus id always give him the Boots so his Movement would be pretty sweet.
Just sometimes that occasional Sage equipped with Thunder or Blizzard would come along and....Critical Attack.
I saved the Warp staff to take out the long distance opponents in the Final part of the last chapter.
Getting my Druid Berserked is NOT FUN.

Now my Wryvern Lord....one man army.
My Druid and Wyvern were unstoppable.

Sigh....im playing it again now.
[sup]i need to get a GBA SP[/sup]
And i know im gonna tear up at the end again.....once you learn about Nergal's story it gets really sad.
Especially when Ninian and Nils cry at the end.
Not to mention a few of my favorite characters had bad lives after the game.
Remember Canas?
;_;

It depends on me.
Sometimes, my characters will get a level up, and nothing will rise! Sometimes, it really pisses me off....

But Berserk sucks no matter who it happens to. It means they are likely going to die horrible deaths, or are going to kill your people.

But yeah, the story of Nergal is just one that points out that sometimes the bad guy is bad for actually a damned good reason from their perspective.

Actually, I had Canas build a relationship with...Natasha, I think? And it really didn't seem that bad.

Personally, my favorite from the first was Lyn. My favorite in the Second Was Emphriam.

Yes Old Olney is not a place for the injured or the faint of heart...

Cougars are sneaky bastards.

You know which game I'm talking about.

HINT: It begins with 'Red Dead'.
Bears can be surprisingly sneaky if you are not actively looking for them.

A few characters will have bad Level ups but for the most part something will go up every time.

I always try to keep a Restore staff handy for things like that, but they are pretty rare in this game.

I havent had Canas buid a relationship with her.
I have completed Nino and Batre.
And in both he He and his Wife Died in a snow storm......
Wtf...he was so cool and a great person....he deserved better......

Hector is my favorite in the first one.
He is just so awesome, and when he gets Armondis.........holy ****.
Second one....not sure, it was ok imo.
I did like Emphriam.
And Joshuah.

Too many of these experiences in Battlefield Bad COmpany 2 to recount. I mean, putting pressure on a sector of the map only to have a mortar strike bring the building down is pretty sick.

Someone said cougars in Red Dead. Scariest things I've ever heard.

Of all the responses I would get from this, I never thought I would get someone telling me bears were sneaking about.

Yeah, but then again, I know where those pesky hidden places are, and don't feel bad about having a terrible money grade.

Wait....Batre? I'm pretty sure that he ends up falling in love with his greatest rival...

But Joshua is cool, and Hector is a very nasty tank and damage dealer once he gets that weapon.

I think i still remember where all the secret shops are.
But getting money is the hard part.

And by relationship i meant his Supports.
Batre does fall in love with Karla and they have a Daughter who is a character in the game that this one is a prequel of.

Hector would always max our DEF and sometimes ATK.
His SPD would be incredible but his RES and LUK would be ok.
His SKL was pretty nice though.

His battle sprites when he equipped Armads had me laughing with awesomeness.
There are few things i love more than characters who have weapons that go into the freaking ground whenever they set them down.

Not if you are willing to sell a couple elixers. I always seemed to have a lot of those.

Karla?.....OK, I'm starting to suspect we are talking about different games.

Hectors Skill always seemed lacking to me. I always had to raise it with items for me to be satisfied.
