So I was playing MW2 on XBL, and it spawned me in the middle of the other team, and they killed me as soon as I got done spectating. I soon found out that it actually just sucks, and I should just sell it, and buy either FF13 or blur.

Although on the reverse side of that, I was playing Halo 3 with some friends, and to make a long story short, I blind-fired a rocket all the way across the map. Simultaneously, one of the guys on the other team was hopping up and down behind a tall wall to get a peek outside.

He happened to hop up just as the rocket was clearing the wall. I have an amazing screenshot of the rocket, clearing the wall, meeting his faceplate on the other side. Thank god for the video replay feature.

Yeah, it would have been kind of weird. Happy it wasn't.

Yeah, Sol Katti made Lyn have I think usually a 56 chance for a critical on just about everything except for the very last boss. And always hit twice. And never missed.

Assassin=Instant death to anything. I don't think Matthew had anything on Jaffar though. That man was evil...In a good way.

Canas was never really all that great for me...I'm not sure why. He just always seemed to be really bad. Really slow, really bad skill. All he usually had going for him was being a summoner, or being able to hit really hard.
Same here.
*shudders*

Sigh...and it made her Attack Sprites look so awesome.

Ehhh, My Matthew would have better stats all around excluding ATK and DEF.
But Jaffar was a cool and tragic character, his Support ending with Nino is heartbreaking.

Iv had great luck with Canas.
If you look at his growth rates he is Average.
He wont master anything but he wont be bad in anything.
The reason he is so good for many people is because he is the only character you get that can use Dark Magic which is easily the most powerful Magic in the Game.

My Canas wouldn't Max out often but he was literally a Magic Tank, being able to take Physical hits and Magic hits.
Though his SKL made it hard to use the Tome Eclipse.

That sounds like something you can watch again and again to get the joy out of causing such an experience, and show the shame of the other guys bad luck.

That is great.

The main reason I was screaming at it though was because on that same run-through, I was aiming for the Gnome Achievement and if you've ever tried to get that Gnome past that level, you'd remember how much of a pain in the ass that Helicopter was. It took me 2 more attempts to beat that chopper after that one. I needed to restart the second time because one of the bombs knocked the gnome into a spot under the trains where I couldn't get to him.

It was a hot summer's eve. My task: Infiltrate the Korean island that I can't pronounce in the warm company of my nanosuit, John.
Unfortunately, I suck at stealth, as does the AI. As I lay there in the patch of grass by the beach waiting patiently for the troop of particularly sweaty Koreans to pass by so that I could place an explosive charge on their big beautiful million dollar pile of soon to be scrap metal, one of them suddenly turned around and shot me in the head. In between my excessive swearing, panic-filled gasps of air and fumbling for the "sprint" key, I managed to fray a road in between one of the many tanks and run for the water. My sigh of relief was only matched by the girly scream of terror that I let out when the shark that I hadn't seen bit my neck off.

Yeah, there doesn't usually seem to be much love for the dark mages in either game. I'm pretty sure it really didn't give you much choice in the second fire emblem either.

However, I could never have him fight anything physical. That was another problem with him. His defense NEVER rose. He could fight magic stuff easily though.

Gnome Chompski. One of the most entertaining escort missions out there, as well as the hardest. But it was so satisfying to finally send him into space.

God Speed, Gnome Chompski.

This happened a lot in Fallout 3. I saw some Talon Company mercs ahead and tried to pick them off stealthily. Things started to go well, none saw me and I sniped a couple of them down. Then all of a sudden a sentry bot comes up behind me and attacks me. That makes me jump out of my position to hide from the mercs and then they attack me. Not fun, but I survived.

Resident Evil 2

"Ah, the nice soothing safe room musi--HOLY FUCK WHAT THE FUCK IS MR. X DOING IN THE GOD DAMN SAFE ROOM!"
That was exactly the first thing I thought of when I saw the title of the thread.:)
The worst part is that up until that point you had been taught that nothing could get you in those little rooms of paradise. Needless to say, I was walking very carefully into the next few safe rooms, with my biggest guns at the ready.

OP: Also, Nintendo has a fairly annoying habit of always making the final boss get back up before dying. The worst one that comes to mind is Majora's Mask. I mean the fucking thing goes through 3 entire transformations before just lying down and exploding with a pathetic low budget sound effect.
[small]*poof*[/small]
Ganon from Twilight Princess wasn't as bad though, even though you fought him through 5 different versions. At least they were fun. And not creepy.

So true.
They put dark Magic back in the series with Radiant Dawn but.....you can only get the two Dark Mages at the end of the game during the second playthrough.....

And Hahahaha!
Yes i have good luck with my favorite characters.

My Canas's DEf would go up at least every other turn.

Splinter Cell Chaos Theory. Wall mines are scary little fuckers, especially if you have earphones on.
I remember I once successfully sneaked past a room with 3 special ops soldiers after a few tries, thought "phew. FINALLY.", rounded the corner, "BOOM".
Scared me half to death.

So on my first play through of Fallout 3, I was roaming the wastes and I had a crap ton items to sell and was in dire need of stimpaks. I look on to see a nearby bombed town called "Old Olney".

"Oh goody! There surely must be a shop around here."

-_-'

I was so wrong.

Yes Old Olney is not a place for the injured or the faint of heart...

Cougars are sneaky bastards.

You know which game I'm talking about.

HINT: It begins with 'Red Dead'.
Bears can be surprisingly sneaky if you are not actively looking for them.
ts crazy, every time I kill one another one shows up nearby and hunts me down. I literally was attacked by like 15 bears in a matter of a few minutes. God damn their freakin ninja bears.

Yeah, but then again, it is DARK magic. Not exactly the most popular thing out there.

I have good luck with my favorites too, I just wish my less favorites would be a little....better.

I'm just frustrated that your Canas becomes amazing, and mine is lucky if he can fight a soldier. >_<

Yeah, I'm looking for experience that happen like were described by WanderFreak. Stepping into where you think you are fine, only to suddenly be surprised by someone.

Earphones make everything scarier in any game. Every boom, scream, or bullet sound whizzing by is always a "oh Shit" moment.

Decided to see if anyone had moments when they did something spectacular, thinking they got their enemy or where they were travelling was safe, only for the completely unexpected thing to happen.

For example, I was playing Red Faction: Guerrilla, and after blowing a huge chunk out of a building, I was quickly surrounded by quite a few troops, and ran inside said building. Since it was still standing, I figured myself pretty safe.....until the entire building began to collapse as a vehicle nearby exploded, bringing the roof down on top of me.

So, have any instances where that rocket "killed" that guy, and when the dust cleared, you stood up and put a round into your face? Do share!
Happened to me so many times in RF..

and yeah, Every moment in S.T.A.L.K.E.R

it drains you, you are never truly safe in that game. it's cool how jaded you get to the game, you start noticing all the sounds in the bushes and in nearby buildings, able to tell if its a human, mutant, or just idle sound.

Dark Magic is also the coolest looking Magic and the names of the Tomes are really interesting, especially if you know what they are based off of.

The eternal Fire Emblem Conundrum.

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!
This might make you even more frustrated but...my Canas had no problem with Myrmidons and Soldiers, even when i first got him.

Dark magic always did look pretty awesome. The runes of Nosferatu...Flux, the basic dark magic.

How is it possible he could handle that as soon as you got him? I mean, we should be getting the exact same guy, but for some reason mine is just weaker!

Flux is probably one of the most powerful Basic weapons in the game, not including Axes.
I guess the units i used him against had weaker stats.
Granted he would never hit twice, but he could dodge their attacks and inflect large amounts of DMG.
