Tyranids, and their Blizzard cousins the Zerg. The reason is simple - they are without number, they are without mercy and they are without fear. To fight such a foe is to fight against the darkest demons dredged from the deepest recess of the subconscious. No matter who stand by your side in such a war, ultimately the battle must be fought and inevitably lost alone.

I'd be more worried about the Xenomorph's (Aliens), because they are so unpredictable, fighting the predator, they have honour, and a code of practice, but the Xenomorph's are smart by themselves, and can co-ordinate brilliantly with a queen.
this

i always thought i could get a predator to bow ... then i'll leg it mid bow ... also xenomorphs are bloody scary ... and even if i sliced it up i'd still have to avoid acid splash and my own weapon melting like caramel

I would hate to fight anything from WH40k... even the goodest goodies will happily kill you with guns which fire ninja stars. And the HUMANS arent exactly friendly. I would hate to fight predators but xenomorphs wouldnt be AS bad. Hmm. Don't actually know that many alien species... but say mythical baddies and that takes more thought.

Cylons would actually be bad to fight... not technically aliens but watever. They can look like humans, have far better technology, completely remorseless/merciless and hate human's guts. Not good combo.

I wouldn't want to fight the Overlords from Childhoods End or the Puppeteers from Ringworld...mostly because I would rather befriend them.

Tyranids. Sure they're not the most origianl of aliens, but hell. They WILL eat you. And everything elese in the galaxy along with you.

In 40k, they've only tested the ice and the full armada is still waiting. So their "recon team" consisted on hundreds of billions of creatures whose only purpose of existance is to kill and devour. Damn, even chaos is f*cked against them. If nid spores will ever rain down from the sky, I'll blow my brains out.
the ONLY race that can kill the orks- they scare even me
not entirely so. Ever heard of Octarius? Orks and 'nids seem to be at a stalemate there.

You piss yourself out of fear. We piss on you to melt you.

That or Orks, or whatever the Orks/Nids in the Octavus sector merge DNA to become. It's bound to happen.

Species 8472, from Star Trek Voyager. Nasty Beasts they are.

I'm not afraid of Predators because I know my death will be swift. The Xenomorphs however, I might wake up in a pocket of gunky crap, waiting for a spider like creature to come out of an egg in front of me. Once that spider jumps at my face, it will lay eggs in my stomach, which will give birth to a Xenomorph, which will claw its way out of my stomach. Afterward it might eat me a little bit for first sustenance. But the worst part is: you'll be alive through most of this.

I don't mind being killed, that's not any more scary than the guy at the bus station who flashes a knife. But if anyone is about to do weird shit with my body while I'm alive to see it... that's a whole new level or scary.

Don't do that.
Whyever not?

Xenomorphs.
It annoys me. Seems quite arrogant in a way.
So everyone should stop doing it because it annoys you.......?

Seems quite arrogant in a way XD
Now now WrongSprite, you're on my good list. Besides I haven't said that everyone should stop doing it just because I don't like it, there was a thread not too long ago talking about the expression and there was tons of replies about how a lot of other Escapists despise it.
I'm loving the sound of the good list.

I just found the irony amusing :D I'm not too bothered.

Gotta go with either Transformers or Tyranids; the former have the potential to blow up your planet or even devour it whole (e.g. Unicron), the latter WILL consume every living thing on your planet if not stopped in the earliest stages of an infestation... neither sounds very pleasant.

The ZERG.

I'd be scared to death if the possibility of a zergling jumping out of the shadows and biting my flesh off was completely evident.

Necrons. They're undead robots whose weapons break you down at the molecular level, literally dissolving the flesh from your bones. That's not what makes them scary to me though. It's that they don't make any fucking noise. How is that not terrifying?

Anything that involves a hive-minded race like Aliens or the Borg. Also things that involve spores and mind control where your body is taken over like the Flood or Body Snatchers.

A lot of 40K races, but no-one's mentioned the Umbra.

Super Cookie for first person to know where it's from (no cheating!)

Otherwise. Replicators, or Furlings
Umbra... oh yea the black spheres that control shadows right. Those buggers are freaky, nothing like seeing a guy ripped in half by a claw made of shadow
its in the Xenology book
Otherwise, I'd go with anything living on Catachan, including the human settlers
A Super Cookie is on the way, but due to it's size it may take 6 to 8 months for delivery, and the delivery man will only drive by your house once in an unmarked van so be on the lookout.

On topic when I read Xenology I was really creeped out by the Umbra; in particular the part where it desribed people getting torn apart by the shadows in the pupils of their eyes, nasty. They can turn shadows into blades and claws, and light only casts stronger shadows for them to kick your ass with. I do hope they re-visit the race in a novel or something.

The Great Old Ones. They eat the 40k Chaos gods for a snack, and don't drop dead after eating Grandfather Nurgle.
