I don't know but I bet it was 20-30 years ago. Concerts were like theatre, and bands always tried to one up each other.

I've never been to any concert, but, based on videos I've seen, my vote goes to Muse. (Honestly, I haven't seen many other videos of bands playing live. But, especially with the crap that is on this side of the world, and the fact that I just KNOW that Muse rocks the live stage, I feel confident in my opinion.)

Ace vocals, awesome stage design, awesome instrument playing, and awesome band members. (It probably helps that they are also my favorite band...)

Feel free to state your reasons!

And, is your favorite band your favorite live band? Do you like any bands that are awful live?
QFT. I hear that Muse is awesome in concert, and will get a true knowledge of whether that is true when my sister goes to see a Muse concert in October.

Skinny Puppy Too Dark Park Tour 1990
Skinny Puppy Last Rites Tour 1992

No room for different opinion.

Not just concerts. Other worlds in a room.

Your sister is soo lucky! Damn my living in Canada! I need you to come back and play a show that isn't on a school night, and a plan ride away from me, Muse! :p

Well, in my experience the best "shows" for me are hardcore, metalcore, death metal, deathcore kinda shows.

Born of Osiris I've seen twice and both times it nearly caused a riot, especially when they played "Bown Down". The first time, the crowd literally caused a human tidal wave against the stage so they could all gang-shout "FUCKING BOW DOWN", the second time I was crowd surfing when that happened. Then jumped down and starting throwing down. When the big break down came I was ready to do it again when I turn around and see a full on fight in the middle of the pit, like a rugby scrum or some shit, and then when it dispersed I see one guy, a friend of mine, laying face down and unconcious. It was beautiful. The Faceless also put on a similar show, less throw-down, more push-mosh and crowd surfing, I saw the two of those bands together, that was a great show. Summer Slaughter Tour 08. The second time I saw Born of Osiris, they were with Oceano and the Bled, both of whom held there own. People were KILLING each other in that pit, and both bands are super charismatic, I loved that show, probably the best I've ever been to.

The Red Chord also puts on a great show. A Day To Remember as well, who are nothing but huge sing-alongs/gang-shouts outs and breakdowns that cause people to spontaneously combust. I saw them at Warped Tour last year and it was amazing. I'm really looking forward to it this year so I can see Dillinger Escape Plan, Parkway Drive, Bring Me The Horizon, Four Year Strong, Whitechapel (who I also saw live with Born of Osiris and The Faceless the first time), Set Your Goals, Polar Bear Club, and Suicide Silence. All of whom I here put on massively amazing live shows. Parkway especially, since I watched their DVD recently and saw just how rough a pit can be at one of their shows.

If you have the time get tickets. It is in New Jersey. No too too far away.
The Boston one a little while ago probs would have been a better bet though.

Led Zep, AC/DC and Floyd I'd say. However of them I've only seen AC/DC.
But in terms of my generation I'd have to say Rise Against or Muse, both very good live. Seen them both. Blink-182 is another one, they make you laugh.
And Foo Fighters and Red Hot Chili Peppers...
I should really stop typing.

I wish. Unfortunatly, my parents would never let a teenager go on her own to New Jersey, and as no one in my family can stand Muse, I'm pretty much stuck. Maybe if they came back to Canada, I could persuade someone to come with me. Anywhere across the border, however, I'm out of luck.

I suddenly have an urge to fireaxe my way through that knucklehead's guts up to his skull.

Yes, I'm a hardcore maiden fan. Case in point.

Anyway I was going to say Iron Maiden. Best ever.
Don't you EVER call Henry Rollins, former vocalist of Black Flag, a "knucklehead".

is that your immediate family, or anyone in your family, cause you could try close yet not really close people like aunts and stuff. Also how can anyone hate them. They are AWESOME!

It's Matt's voice. My family all says "Oh, their music is really good, but the singing is just whining!"
Matt Bellamy's voice is one of the many reasons why I listen to Muse. It's part of what makes them unique.
And I could, definitely, ask an uncle, as he *says* he likes Muse. He's going with my brother to a Rush concert in the summer, but he likes Rush more than Muse. I could always try my aunt, though. I guess you never know, right?
The thing is, there was a Muse concert in Toronto that I definitely wanted to see, but it was on a Monday night. (My birthday, no less!) So, I never got to go.
And now, my brother gets to go see his favorite band in the same place where I wanted to see MY favorite band. The only different is that he's actually going to the concert.

Wow, sorry about that. xD But that's been bugging me ever since my brother got the tickets. (I understand how excited he's feeling, though.)

That would piss me off to no end. That would have probably been one of the best birthday presents ever if you had gotten to go.

Yep... *Sigh* But it's all good. I make due with watching a bunch of oldies on Youtube. Stuff from '99 and '00 is hilarious, but also amazing. Matt's dyed hair was pretty special. :p

POLYSICS Pretty much the only band that didn't disapoint me live, but I'm not in the habit of spending $100+ dollars on a night out, so I've only seen a handful of concerts.

That's the (former) keyboardist/resident robot dancing.

in-fucking-tense

Misery Signals... awesome metal/hardcore scene vibe.
Also, Placebo. probably just because I'm biased towards creepy indie films, and they had one playing in the background when I saw them at SW.
