Seeing as Ico and Shadow of the Colossus sold for shit, probably The Last Guardian.

It's still my most anticipated game of the year by a lightyear though.
Have to say you took the words from me. Bloody Ninja.

Duke Nukem Forever, no doubt about it. Been in development way too long.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure 99% of the fascination with DNF is its meme-level development schedule. At this point, gamers have moved on to the point where most of their exposure to Duke Nukem is jokes about DNF (more like ForNEVER amirite?) and youtube videos where people use a Duke Nukem sound-board to troll vent servers.

ha ha ha, that's wishful thinking.

But when you think about it after Guitar Hero went under the next logical step to making the games world a better place would be for Call of Duty to go under and scare the pants off all the other would be designers that are trying to put out another crappy FPS.
That way we might see an original game hit the fucking shelves in our lifetime.
Wishful? It´s official that Hammerhead studios or I dont remember the name but it was something about hammer lol, it´s developing the new COD and there are rumors that will be MW3. It's not wishful becuase I don't even buy those games. but if your talking about the COD low sales, I think it could happen. There are a lot of people complaining of how awful and buggy those games are, and also how short is the campaign and how ridiculous is the AI, that and the fact that in November it will be Elder Scrolls, mass efect 3 and gears of war(i think) launch date, so actually it could happen

My guess would be either Homefront, Duke Nukem, or Mortal Kombat will fail (or all three).

Homefront might fail because it will be perceived as just another COD/Battlefield clone.

Duke Nukem might fail from being in development for too long (those who were interested in it 10 years ago might not be interested in it anymore, or even know that it's coming out).

Mortal Kombat might fail because it doesn't seem like a relevant franchise anymore. Mortal Kombat vs. DC failed terribly, and I think most fighting game fans will still have their hands full with Marvel vs. Capcom when Mortal Kombat comes out.

Most of the people who play COD have no idea that it changes developers every year, or that Infinity Ward isn't making the next one. Also most of the people who play COD are not in the same demographic as those who play Elder Scrolls and Mass Effect. Neither of those things will have much to do with the success of the next call of duty game.

Marvel vs Capcom 3 -- unless the market falls out for fighting games, I figure it's pretty safe
Mortal Kombat -- ditto
Elder Scrolls V -- popular RPG franchise, it's a hit
Bulletstorm -- could easily under-perform, but I think the advance buzz from the demo indicates otherwise
Zelda -- core Nintendo franchise, don't see it faltering now
Dragon Age 2 -- popular RPG franchise, success
Uncharted 3 -- don't know if it can surpass the second one, but it's a pretty safe bet it'll be a hit
Gears 3 -- ditto
Duke Nukem Forever -- can't hazard a guess until we see a demo. If the game is any kind of quality, it'll do well
Mass Effect 3 -- see Gears & Uncharted... also popular RPG franchise, safe as houses
L.A. Noire -- best guess is it's a hit because it's from Rockstar, but it's a new IP, so anything can happen
Batman Arkham City -- should be successful. Too much Bat history for the last game to be a fluke.
The Last Guardian -- know nothing about this one.
Deus Ex -- I'm hopeful and it's certainly got a lot of eyes on it. But it's an IP with no recent history and a fanbase that is going to be hyper critical.
Crysis 2 -- probably a solid seller, but not a break-out hit.
Portal 2 -- this is like a half-hour comedy getting a feature length movie... can they stretch the material to fit a full length game or does the audience start checking its watches half an hour in.
F3AR -- third entry in a popular franchise. Should perform.
Battlefield 3 -- know nothing of the franchise. No guess
Homefront -- this one can go either way. If the single player is up to snuff and it gets good reviews, it should be a solid hit. If the game is a near-miss like Medal Of Honor, it'll probably just do okay. Definitely depends on the reviews.
COD MW3 (Rumor) -- if it comes out, it's a big hit... just like all the others. CoD probably gets one shit entry before audience erosion starts to set in and I don't think Black Ops was that.

Also, knowing Battlefield, it'll do fine. Same with Portal. MW3, I know it won't fail. I prayer it does, but I know it won't.

I didn't even hear of L.A. Noire until now. So I'm going to go ahead and say that one.

Sad as I am to say it, L.A. Noire. GTA's audience wants to cause crime, not prevent it. They just aren't patient enough to sit through interrogation and investigation. They're gonna bungle the cases just to get to the gunplay, get the worst possible result, and then go "DURR THIS GAME SUX OMG WHY DO PEOPLE SAY ITS SO GOOD!"

It's gonna tank, and it may even bring Team Bondi under. I'll buy it, but I have only met 1 person at school that's even heard of the game.

Don't really see the franchise crashing and burning that quickly... first person shooters have been a popular genre for close to 20 years and people aren't tired of them yet. Furthermore, people have generally been happy with MW, MW2, and Black Ops; so the next one is going to open big... even if it gets savaged by critics.

Activision basically has one Get Out Of Jail Free card. One CoD game that can be a smash hit even if it pisses off the great bulk of its fanbase... and we'll see that coming to pass on the MP scene. It's the one after that could crash and burn.

I don't think that skyrim will be too big among the majority of gamers. Bulletstorm might get a boost from the ten year old crowd.
