Both Twilight and Eragon had humble beginnings as charming, well written, and fairly successful fantasy novels. Unfortunately, they also have another thing in common; their movie adaptations were both shit. They both clipped numerous scenes from the book, hired pale-white pretty boys to play the lead, and overall, left the viewers with a feeling close to having shit kicked out of you by a Russian dominatrix.

But which do you think was worse? The Eragon movie? Or the Twilight movie?

Keep in one thing in mind: the only winners here are the people who didn't see the movie.
Eragon movie for me... i read the book.. :( THERE WASENT EVEN ONE SINGLE F***ING DWARF IN THE DWARF CITY IN THE MOVIE!!! WTF?!?!

and in the book they clearly state that the dragon has the leathery stuff on thier wings (cant remember the word for it) but for some reason they chose feathers !?!?!?!? WHAT ?!... alot of times i was thinking when watching it... "they just did this just to earn a quick buck"..assholes... ruined such a good tale

Eragon hands down. I mean, how the hell did Brom kill the Razac anyway? They live up to the third book! Without the Razac, there's no story!

Twilight didn't really have a story to ruin anyway so the movie didn't do much (except make it sllightly worse). I'm being nice here cos I don't feel like calling 20 million fangirls morons, even if they ARE morons.

All those in favor of killing Stephenie Meyer say "aye"

See, when I first saw the title, I thought you meant which franchise as in...which franchise has too many sequels/prequels like Star Wars or Halloween/Nightmare on Elm Street/Friday the 13th or even Indian Jones...

So now that this thread is a whole lot less interesting...

Neither Eragon or Twilight ever had anything to ruin...

"No." I didn't feel like mentioning that my stomach was already full - full of butterflies.
No but seriously, both series were awful reads. I've seen Eragon the film (only after watching Manos: The Hands of Fate - shitty movie double feature!). I've yet to see Twilight, though I actually WANT to, as it's reached such awful proportions that I'm sure it's gone all the way around and become so bad that it's funny.

I was never a fan of either, but based on the fact Twilight was utter garbage in both mediums, and so couldn't be ruined, it's gotta be Eragon (it had charm, I just never really enjoyed it).

However, I will NEVER forgive Hollywood for the abyssmal version of Golden Compass/Northern Lights it created. Awful, awful film...

I'm sorry but wasn't that the whole point of the book Twilight, that Edward is ridiculously sexy? I thought that was it's main selling point.

You can't ruin a terrible franchise.

For clarity, I think they're both terrible franchises. Eragon is the pinnacle of Gary Stu fiction where everything happens just to show how awesome the titular character is. He always gets knocked unconscious after the inevitable calvary rescue, and everyone who doesn't think he's awesome is either a villain or likes him after the Deus Ex Machina Ceremony. Never mind that Eragon's sockpuppets have absolutely no personality, Arya (who gets the most description other than his pet dragon) is only described for her cliche super-hot elf lust interest appearance.

Eragon. It actually had a good book, than they wrecked it, as with Twilight it's an equal fail amount.

The Eragon books are fairly good, even if they are generic high fantasy. From what I've seen of Twilight its just some teen girl romance so I am inclined to go with Eragon. I refused to see the film as I knew it would suck.

Eragon, it would have been okay if i had never read the book, but i did. The worst part is that they're making a sequel to the movie. :(
