I hate Prince Bhelen from DA:O because my first playthrough was dwarf noble, I got really into the story, then BAM, he betrays me and I get the death sentence, while this is meant to so my character can become a grey warden, I had forgotten all that because of my immersion, and so I got really pissed

I hate any "tie in" games. If they are based on a movie, show, book, children's toy, or whatever, they are always bad. Also, Superman games tend to suck.
What about Star Wars: Battlefront II?

That game was great fun.
Touche, bag, you got me there.

Though I'd say that the SW: Battlefront games aren't directly tie-in games. Or, at least, they avoid the pitfall of other tie-in games. Having to be developed with a bare minimum of information on the story or anything, in a time frame that's half of what other games need, and forced to avoid any big spoilers. At least, that's the case for movie tie-ins. I'd say that others fail largely due to being blatant attempts to make money based on something popular, but with a minimum of effort or talent behind the work.

The Battlefront games were developed decades/years after the films. Thus, they avoided all of that rush to tie-in with the movies. If you can't accept that explanation, hopefully you can accept that you have proven me wrong.

Cameos are usually pretty bad. But to answer the original question, I'd have to say Vaan from FFXII because he seemed to have no real correlation to the plot and he was forced on us by Square-Enix for some reason.

PS: You shouldn't need a character map or a number pad to fill out a Captcha. 'Nuff said.

Don't worry I understand what you mean, but you should be more specific next time when you explain things.

In your OP you said that any game "based", and SW:BF II is "based" on the Star Wars films directly (it even uses footage from the films).

Game: Baten Kaitos because... everything.

Seriously. I hate everything about that fucking game. The characters are all unlikable twats, the story is beyond retarded and the combat... oh fuck... the combat...

It's like they looked at the standard turn-based JRPG combat and asked themselves "how can we make this more annoying and stupid?"

Also there's a flashback cutscene toward the end of the game where a female character collapses and the most legendarily awful exchange of dialogue follows. It goes something like this:
"Oh, you're bleeding."
"Congratulations!"
There is no water hot enough to wash away that unclean feeling.

Character: Kalas, the main character of said game. Why? Because, quite frankly, he's a ****. And he acts accordingly throughout the entire game.

At one point, he betrays you and it is revealed that he's been working with the bad guys the entire time because he wanted power to kill some douchebag for his epic quest of revenge or some shit like that. After you fight him in a boss fight some time later, he suddenly decides that being evil isn't fun anymore and re-joins your party, going "durr, I'm sorry you guys." AND THEY ALL JUST FUCKING FORGIVE HIM WITHOUT A SECOND THOUGHT. NO. FUCK THAT FUCKING SHIT, I DON'T WANT THAT ANNOYING **** BACK IN MY PARTY. HE TRIED TO FUCKING MURDER YOU, WHY ARE YOU ACTING LIKE IT'S NO BIG DEAL!?

Well, I wasn't really thinking of the SW: Battlefront games. I was thinking more about games based on recent movies like Iron Man or Transformers. You don't see too many games based on other media, except on very rare occurrences. Though there are a few examples. There was a Xbox game called Barbie Horse Adventures. Never played it, but how could that be good? Or interesting?

Gears of War/Cole - What the fuck happened here? It's been forever since I played Gears1, but I really don't remember Cole being such an embarrassment to be around. It seems his existance became that of an overwhelmingly black stereotype. A good example was the cutscene when you found Baird. I thought that was an interesting moment, sure it's cliche that aliens capture humans for some kind of exploitive purpose, but I was really interested to see why they were doing this. The dialogue went like this...

"Baird! What the hell happened? The locust are capturing people?"
"They're taking all of us! I think I'm the only one left, but I'm telling you Marcus, they're trying to capture us. They're trying to process us maaaan!"
"I TOL U DEYS TRYNA PROCES SOME BITCHES!!!!!"

....WHAT???? I couldn't believe my ears. My friend and I were both in silence as the scene was going on, but when we heard that we absolutely lost it and laughed our asses off. The entire seriousness of the scene was completely destroyed and we both stopped giving a shit about the entire story once this happened. Thanks a lot, Cole. Is this a fucking joke? What dumbass wrote this crap? Carlos Mencia?

I honestly found his behavior and dialogue to be a complete embarrassment and offensive. And I'm not even black. I'm by no means an uptight person, and I love a good laugh. But this was
just, awful.

Duke Nukem Forever.

That game made me wait 14 years for that crap.

When it takes 14 years to make something it wants to be damn amazing NOT what this turned out to be. It was a 90's shooter that looked like it had taken 14 months to make not years.

Duke was funny .... 14 years ago.

But I can't hate Duke when I have Tidus from FFX. Whining little arsehole that he was.

most hated character would be the entr cast of ff13, each one either a douche, desperate to be a character in ff7, or both

I hate this game the most:

But I hate this character the most:

Why?

Because Sonic the Hedghog on the 360 was the biggest let down and kcik in the nuts ever. While Nathan Drake is the biggest douche I've ever seen.

Most hated game: Pokemon Channel. How that even qualifies as a game is beyond me.

Most hated character: Navi. Do I even need a reason?

Really hate Yukari from Persona 3: FES, but only in The Answer. In The Journey she's okay, if not a little whiny at first.

Terrible games, generic character.
I'm sure if you read the books, you'd think otherwise.

It's easily the most depth fulled video game frachnise, but it's hidden in easter eggs and in the extended universe.

Moira from Fallout 3. She's probably the only game character ever to really get on my nerves.

I'm not sure I really hate any game in particular. There are definitely games I don't like, and certainly some I don't understand why others like as much as they do, but if I'm not enjoying something I generally stop way before I get to the point of hatred.

As far as characters, however, there's one definite answer for me: Gordon Freeman. I hate the evangelistic cult that surrounds him. I hate that he's considered a strong or quality character when his actual in game existence is nothing more than a floating camera. I hate that people try to champion him as a total blank slate that they can inhabit as their own when he's clearly been tightly designed from physical appearance to how others interact with him (particularly given that, as noted above, all of the obvious character design is reduced to floating camera once you get in the actual game).

Easily the most depth filled video game franchise? What about Legend of the Dragoon? (take any character you want, Dart, Rose, Lavitz, Shana, etc) Fallout? Bioshock? Assassins Creed? And those are just the main stream ones I've pulled out, let's not even get into others.
(LoD isn't mainstream, but the others were.)

No amount of money grabbing works of fiction payed for by microsoft is going to make Halo the "easily the most depth fulled video game frachnise" Tell me, oh please just tell me the amazing story behind the spartans. Because I can match it with about ten better. You could have argued your series had some merit before Microsoft had to ruin bungie's hard work and announce that the series is making a 4,5 and 6. You have fun with that.
