Timesplitters 2.
Especially because you could switch it on, nothing in that game was a as satisfying a #chak... wwwhhhhiiiiiiiirrrrrrr#, well, maybe the rapid fire death that came afterwards.

Timesplitters 1's dual wiedable Miniguns were pretty special too.

TF2's minigun is just fun. The most realistic representation though, is in L4D.

Edit: Nevermind, it's ben fixed.

Hmm, I don't know if a game has ever done a minigun right, last time I read the specs of one they could fire 3000 .50calibre rounds per minute. If you've seen a video of a real minigun fired it looks like a laser beam of bright light streaming from the end of the barrels, and anything it touches explodes. Maybe they haven't been done right yet for a reason? :D
(The minigun I'm speaking of was mounted on a helicopter, pretty sure handheld variants don't exist - I'm likely wrong because some nut has probably done it).

But I'd have to say that Saints Row 2 definitely did it WRONG, that minigun is weak as hell...

it is a military deployed heavy weapon rivited to the floor. not something you carry.

but it cuts through the undead like molten steel through melty butter.
Yeah, L4D was the first game to have static turrets.

;x

Anyway, the Serious Sam one was pretty silly.

The one in Timesplitters 2 was my favourite, but I have to acknowledge the ones in GTA VC and SA for the simple fact that they could own anything in the game in seconds, provided you weren't facing a tank.

Most recently? Gears of War 2 did miniguns fairly well. It slows you down to a crawl, you have to put it down somewhere before you can actually start firing, and the rate of fire's high. It's powerful, but burns through ammo quickly, and it's virtually impossible to use it in anything other than your immediate surroundings. Not as unrealistic as 90% of miniguns in games.

Command and Conquer Renegade
the minigun is like a mege machinegun with tons of ammo and the ammo is easy to find, and has no silly draw backs like; you now walk instead of running (team fortress 2),or it goes through ammo to fast (Fallout 3), or you only find it near the end of the game,or the their sationary (Half Life 2 [well laser minigun]), or most hated of all only the enemies get them (Deus EX).Oh almost forgot later in the game LASER MINIGUN same amout of ammo as first one and the ammo is not scarce.

CoD4 had a single static Minigun turret in Singleplayer, and I think it came first.

I'm sorry, I thought the " ;x " implied that I was kidding.
