definitely halo, can't picture anyone but halo players wanting to stick their balls in each others mouth
Don`t hate the player, hate the game, just don`t rant on it.

Ok children, add more to the discussion please, just saying "I concur" does`nt add anything, you`re merely saying "this".
Oh my mistake, sorry when I say I concur, I mean I agree whole heartedly
LOL cheeky gitbag!

Seriously though, go read the Posting Guidelines just to make sure.

It was more prevalent in counterstrike until it was the "thing to do" in halo. After the counterstrike community caught on, they decided to stop so they won't be identified with halo's crowd.

Proof: I was there and they even had server mods that catered to teabagging on some counterstriker servers.

I'm guessing either Counterstrike or one of the Quake games.

Halo definitely brought it to the forefront, like many other things.

The earliest I recall being t-bagged was in Counter-Strike 1.2, and I know people were doing it before that. I'd say you'd be better off looking up what game first had a 'crouch' function.

P.S.: No, kiddies, it was not Halo - the first game didn't even have an online component.

I've only ever seen it on Halo, and by the time I knew what it was, it seemed like it was old and overdone. It's hilarious though seeing such foul-mouthed preteens being so eager to stick their balls in a dead person's mouth. That's pathetic on so many levels, it only gets more hilarious the more I think of it. The best though is when they miss, and they do the little squat dance. That's the funniest part of it.

golden eye or counter strike
Must have been Counterstrike or Halo. You can't crouch in Goldeneye.

I have to say though, I prefer Call of Duty where instead of just teabagging you cna lie down and rape the corpse. YAY!
You can indeed crouch, but it's hard as fuck to do, and it's best to not even bother.
Yeah, wasn't it some weird button like down on the d-pad or something? (Y'know, on the part of the controller you were never holding?)

When I saw this thread title, Halo popped into my mind right away, just because Halo, douche bags and teabagging all link arms with each other. I do know that I happened in Counter Strike long before it though (having seen it there) but it definatly became a staple of Halo.

Yes, along with holding the B button, I think. I don't quite remember, as the last time I played, it was on an emulator.

Halo might not have been the primogenitor of that annoying tradition in the sense that the first incidence of teabagging was inside Halo, but it is definitely the game that "created" teabagging as a word in our collective gaming lexicon. Halo and douchebags go hand in hand, and only douchebags teabag. It's a natural synergy of stupidity.
"Synergy of stupidity"

I'm saving that one for later.

OT: I would have to agree with the others. Halo seems to be where it was mainstreamed. I wonder if the OED has anything on it? *looks it up*

Nope, not even anything on the sex act. Shame that.

It was halo - is not a done thing in counterstrike, or quake3 or unreal - its something that PC gamers dont really do... I've only ever seen it done in the halo series.

I would say either Halo or Counter Strike

But that seems to be the general consensus anyway

I'm guessing Counter Strike and other early PC games.

Though I first discovered it through Halo.
Yeah thats what I'm saying, I mean Teabagging in games, you think Halo
And when you think early quicktime events, you think God of War. QTEs started way earlier than that.

I'm sure the idea started way back in the earliest days multiplayer gaming, but the biggest and most douche-filled games made it more mainstream.

a bunch of different people independently discover while playing splitscreen --->Some early online game only a few of the oldest of us have ever heard of ---> more familiar online PC FPSs (quake, CS, etc.) ---> early online console games -> Halo superpopularizes it while simultaneously breaking the record for most douchebags per capita in an online game community ---> Today, where you can't play a game online where anyone or anything has a crotch without getting teabagged
