After playing some PS2 classics last night (Bully, Psychonauts, TimeSplitters: Future Perfect) I started thinking about games that never got any much deserved sequels.

So Escapists, which game series would you like to see continued?

Half-Life 2

In all seriousness, the Jak and Daxter games deserve a proper sequel on the PS3.

None of this handheld bullshit.

I would choose Star Wars Republic Commando. It was a fun game and the campaign ended in a way for a sequel to happen.

I would have to say Henry Hatsworth. The fact that they gave it a subtitle clearly means they set it up for one, but poor sales said otherwise.

Henry Hatsworth has nothing on Professor Layton.

I would like to see the Professor Layton series gain more popularity in America. So far there are 3 games in Japan with 2 more planned and a movie. In America, there are two games that didn't really gain that much popularity. I also think that Borderlands needs a sequel, but this time with a better story, a better ending, and more differentiations between classes.

I'd like to see InFamous get its well-deserved sequel, but it probably will.

As for one that's unlikely, I'll go with my stock "sequel-needing" game and say that Insomniac should make another Spyro. Really, the games just got awful after Insomniac sold the properties, and the series is in serious need of a revitalization, if just for the nostalgia-hungry fans (me included) alone.

seconded. battlefront was an awesome game. u were actually in a battle, not by urself or with a little squad. big, open and lots of different classes. plus space battles were awesome. and i only got it just b4 360 came out and didnt get a chance to play it online.... 32 players + on 360 or however many on ps3's. madness

This. So very much this. There's still some fourth wall in urgent need of braking.

God, a question that eternally haunts me. There's a difference between series that were discontinued for unknown reasons and one-off games that were never meant to have a sequel even if it had great potential.

Examples of the former:
Rival Schools
Powerstone
Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan!
Legacy of Kain
Shenmue (INCOMPLETE TRILOGY! RAAAAAAAGE!)
Tribes
Gargoyle's Quest
Zone of the Enders (IS ACTUALLY GETTING A PS3 SEQUEL, WOOHOO!)

Examples of the latter:
Jet Force Gemini
Hybrid Heaven
Chaos Legion
Ring of Red
GrimGrimoire
Vagrant Story
Legend of Dragoon
Battle Realms
Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem

Conker's Bad Fur Day. I didn't want a crappy port with a crappy multiplayer(Seriously, how do you take the good modes out and make it online only)

*snip*
Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
Eternal Darkness had an ad included in it as part of the high level broken sanity effects right in it. And the company says it is waiting "for the right time" to make a sequel. I hope they get around to it soon! I really want to see that one made.
