I use Windows Media Player almost exclusively. It rarely craps out on me and when it does, a quick search fixes it right up. Say what you will about Microsoft, but they have a pretty extensive knowledge base.
I don't like iTunes because it lagged my computer terribly and I found it a little difficult to use and organise. I liked Winamp, but stopped using it after a visualisation caused my computer to crash (further proof that I need to upgrade.)
WMP, primarily for ripping, and the builin media server. I usually listen to music on networked media players, netgear mp101, linksys wml 11b, or xbox+xbmc. If I'm listening to music on the pc, it's usually streaming off of youtube or mtv.com.
itunes for my ipod...i couldnt live without my ipod life is too miserable without some good ol rock/heavy metal music......(im not depressed or weird its just true)...and windows media player for movies though i use my xbox with movies really.
Secondly i have all three. WMP for my general music needs (always on my second screen), iTunes for my iPod and VLC for anything that i cant play/watch on the other two.
(note: as im writing this the input box is slowly growing, is this normal for chrome? or have i finally gone mad?)
Media Player Classic for just about everything, except music. Fewer buttons, less hassle, faster load. I listen to my music genre lists on WMP for convenience sake.
