Had a conversation at work today and I really never have a solid answer for it. Some people Say pregnancy other say Kidney stone. I believe there equally both in pain. What do you think?

My Tech teacher said that kidney stones were worse, but I doubt it. I am going to need some first hand experience before I believe that. But, that is because I am a fucking moron and have to do as many painful things as possible.

They are both the highest level of pain on a pain scale. The only thing that equates to those is a gallbladder attack or extreme trauma.

As a guy I cannot experience the preggers but I thought I had a stone and it hurt like hell (was an infection), I CAN tell you that gallstones are the most horrible things ever.

Let's see...one is passing a tiny little object through a little hole, the other is passing a giant thing through a small hole...what the hell do you think hurts more? I believe common sense would dictate the answer here: childbirth.
Maybe the kidney stone is the worst kind of pain for a guy, though.

EDIT: Moved from the inexplicable copy of this thread in the RP section.

Pain, like pleasure, is relative. I like to use the example of orgasms to highlight the idea. A man and woman both have orgasms, but a womans is significantly more apocalyptic. Men, however, assure everyone that theirs are not shabby either, and don't seem to care that the other 50% of the population is having utter earthshakers.

I'm not an expert, and i'm never going to say that pregnancy doesn't hurt like a ***** (you tear any of your orifices open wide enough to fit a baby through), but in a competition vs kidney stones, does it matter?

Gender is irrelevant, when you have a Baby or a Kidney Stone, and it hurts like the ungodly curse of a vengeful Satan, is there anything more painful? If feelings can be relative, and you can't compare the two, then can any be 'more painful?'

I don't think so. Pain and pleasure are personal. Just because someone else is having their entire body explode into awesome during sex doesn't mean your own release is any less epic. Just because someone has a kidney stone or baby doesn't mean your own affliction isn't any more 'KILL ME, PLEASE'. One may hurt 'more' in terms of quantifiable phenomenon, but 'pain' is not quantifiable, only comparable. If you can't compare, you can't make that call. If you can, then you are one unlucky bastard.

In short: It's not quantifiable, as it's relative to the person experiencing it.

Ok I can understand that you know pissing stone out not smooth at all as I recalled. Heard they are deformed shape pissing out of a small hole, but you might be your on your part the childbirth would not be smooth either

Well, it comes down to what you think would hurt more, having a larger object forced out of your body through a hole that is only supposed to stretch so far, or having a stone that may or may not be jagged travel ALL the way down your urinary track.

Have you ever seen a kidney stone though? "Stone" is the most wrong discription possible of thease jagged little tube cutters at least the baby doesnt have ultra sharp jagged edges that tear everything up as it comes out.

It just tears everything by merit of being too damn big.

Yeah, I know they have little spikey things on them.

Yes, but I think that childbirth would rank above that for a woman.

I agree with Ultrajoe on this, it does depend on who experiences it.

In my family, both of my grandmothers have had kidney stones and both said that kidney stones hurt more, but I have met people that have had kidney stones and said the opposite.

To me, it makes more sense that kidney stones hurt more, because giving birth is a completely natural thing, where as kidney stones aren't quite as natural, and they have to pass through the kidneys, which is solid flesh.

My uncles have all passed kidney stones and so have I, and we all agree that being kicked in the nads hurts a lot more than stones, but again, it's a matter of who it happens to because the size of the stones vary and can be different in terms of pain.

A man's little hole is a whole lot smaller than a woman's 'little hole', granted the kidney stone is a whole lot smaller than a child as well but.. err.. idunno

I've only experienced kidney stones thus far, but considering that pregnancy lasts about nine months I'd vote for it as being more painful.

Gall Stones are worse than both of those. When you have a kid or pass a kidney stone, you can get on with life afterwards. Gall stones however don't leave. They just grow and grow while making your stomach feel like bursting any time you eat something fatty. Even after the attack you know that all it takes is a bowl of cereal and the torture begins again.
