Windows 7. It's easy to use and fulfills all my needs. The half-screen-document thing (just drag an open window to the left/right edge of screen) is awesome for whenever I'm doing research on diseases or such for my studies.

For personal free time use it's great aswell, no problems with games (so far), and it swaps background every 5 minutes randomly from my wallpaper folder, allowing me to space out and just think while watching my screen swap pictures every now and then.

[sub]...and it might be somehow connected to the fact that I enjoy seeing Nanami Madobe in my lower right corner[/sub]

Snow Leopard. Looks good, feels nice, doesn't get in my way and I know my way around it. Runs everything and most things I want.
On the Microsoft side of things, I prefer Windows 7. I'm not fond of any of the Linux distributions I've tried, much as I admire the Open Source philosophy.

Windows XP. I've used it ever since it was conceived under Bill Gates' 2,197th money bath.

I'm very happy with Win7 but before that, XP.

I didn't have the problems with Vista that most people had but I see why it was hated.

Windows 98 Second Edition.. That was a beast!

But I guess I'll settle on Windows XP.. That one got damn stable after a while!

I love my healthy mix of Windows 7 and OSX Snow Leopard. I have dabbled in Ubuntu a few times too but my wireless card never seems to want to work...

For me , mac os 10. It has the visual flare and quality, a dock bar which makes loading up programs extremely easy. I just like the way it acts, very intuitive.

Got Snow Leapard on my Macbook Pro - run VMWare with XP on the same Mac.
Win7 on my PC which crashes regularly.. can't figure out whether it's Hardware or Software...
Got Android on my Galaxy Tab and on my Phone.
XBox360 runs the XBox360 OS.
I develop for Windows Mobile 5/6.1 sometimes.
My TV Media centre is based on Linux.

Mac doesn't crash generally - but spinny rainbow beachball of doom does appear frequently.
Win XP Crashes (Funny as hell to see a VM Bluescreen)
Win7 is good but crashes according to Murphy's Law (i.e. When I'm working on something important and haven't saved yet)
Android is basically rock solid.
Windows Mobile is basic. Basically ugly, basically limited and basically at the end of it's useful life.

My fav is the one I'm using for a particular task that helps me the most and hinders me the least.. so that'll be a version of Unix most of the time and a product from Microsoft for the rest.

Personally I'm really loving Windows 7. I've gotten used to it so its pretty damn awesome. Though I used gOS (Green/Google Operating System) for about two months and it was pretty brilliant as well.

I'm going to get smacked for this... For gaming I prefer Windows Vista. Everyone complains about it but its a really good gaming system if you know what features to run/disable.

Otherwise, for simply internet usage, game design, and technical stuff I prefer the Mac OSX

I have a feeling I'm going to be in a vast minority here, but OS X. All PC-exclusive games I'm interested in (basically Valve and Blizzard's catalogs) are on Mac, and the rest of the time I play on consoles.

I love DOS. We used to make choose-your-own-adventure stories in DOS with .bat files.
And back in the day we had to work for our games. We didn't have none of these fancy "icons".
And sometimes you had to make a boot disk just for specific games, or allocate EMS. You better believe that wasn't no click of a button neither!
Hey where are you going? Pay attention when I'm shakin' my cane at you!

My real answer is Windows 7.
SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 T4

I have my Desktop Dual-Booting XP 32bit Pro and Win7 64bit Home Premium, I hardly touch XP now except for legacy gaming for stuff that just won't run on 7 (System Shock 2, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, and KOTOR II are the ones that spring immediately to mind).

I have a netbook that dual-boots XP and xfce Mint, I really like Mint, more that other distros. Xp is on the netbook because I have trouble getting my 3G dongle to work in Linux, it has to be plugged in when I turn it on and nopt from sleep mode, and for games of course. Wine is all and good but it is easier to run them in their native OS. I find I use the netbook for a lot of legacy gaming, most of my GOG titles are installed on it.

When I go Sandy Bridge in my Desktop I'm thinking I'll only boot Windows 7 and use my old parts to make a Hackintosh/Xp Lan box.

I like a lot of OSs but if I had to pick just one it'd be 7 64bit.
