There's only two people I actually trust in this field, though our tastes differ, and they would be Adam Sessler and Noah Antwiler. I look at assloads of other reviews and figure a game from there, but I trust none of those reviewers individually.

Also, I like Yahtzee's stuff, but I've learned not to listen to him for purchase advice (and I'm sure he wouldn't have it any other way, to be honest). Half-Life 2 was nothing special and No More Heroes holds the record for least amount of time it took me to return a game to the store.

I dont exactly listen to anyone. I watch and play with my friends who bought it and decide if its worth the 60 dollars.

I don't trust any one reviewer in particular, I make my decisions based of multiple reviews, gameplay footage and my personal opinion about the game.

Tvtropes. I look at the page for the game and I read "Crowning Moment of Awesome", without spoilers, and "Just Bugs Me". If the CMoA outweighs the JGM, as I judge it, then it's a worthy game.

I look at many but then go to user reviews. The real players know best.
I forgot to say this one. Go to GameFAQs and read the reviews that aren't from young teens with terrible grammar or the overexcited fanatics who praise anything that their favourite developer puts out. Do this and you're sure to find good reviews that represent the average gamer.

I usually find that as long as you read the review proper, you can usually get a pretty full picture of their opinion and the ins and outs of the game. But mostly...

I trust The Escapist's reviews, especially Susan Arendt's, I just tend to agree with her game taste.

I generally trust PC gamer. Though most games I get because I check them out to see if it's my style.

Love watching Yahtzee review, but my tastes and his are different, so many times I'll like a game he doesn't.

Gameinformer on non-blockbuster titles. Usually very honest, but on the big franchises I think they care more about giving the franchise a good score.

Zero Punctuation because he points out the flaws in a humorous manner.

MetaScore because they have so many reviews. If I think the score is oddly low or high, I can then follow a link to any of the reviews they have listed.

I'm quite surprised at how many people say that they don't read any reviews and then state their main reason for doing so being that they don't agree with the scores given or whatever.

Review Content > Review Score

I apologize if my answer doesn't meet everyone's expectations since he's actually swedish but he always thinks the way I do and he's a gamereview for Press2PlayTV. Their shows are completely non-scripted which gives everything a very natural flow where he only gets the possibility to say what he actually thinks instead of stealing what other reviewers think.

Apart from that the best reviewer is me since I also think the same as me. *hrm*

People actually use ZP as reviews? That's like doing everything your senile old grandpa says that "dem kidz should be doin' dis insted of dat crap". So, stupid. I mean, I love the ZP videos for the humour but it doesn't really inform. It's hard to gauge the degree of issues with a game since he tries to be as negative as possible to them.

I don't really look at reviewers... Hell, I don't buy many games in the first place. Maybe one every 2-3 months. For me, I buy new releases if they look good. I'll check Gamespot or Metacritic quickly to see that it isn't buggy as hell, and then I'll go get it. Otherwise, I buy older games that look interesting if they're on sale.

I don't buy too often, but I tend to buy things that I know would appeal to me. For instance, my latest purchase was Pokemon SoulSilver. I know I like Pokemon, so therefore, I was happy. Before that was Assassin's Creed 2, which I knew I would probably like considering how much I enjoyed Prince of Persia: The Sands Of Time trilogy. And before that was the Beatles Rock Band, which I knew I'd like because I like music games, and I like the Beatles.

It really isn't that hard. If something appeals to you, get it. Someone else shouldn't make or break your opinion on a game.

http://www.gamerevolution.com They're really honest and use an academic A-F scale to rate, which I think is much better than 5 stars or 10-point. Also, they kinda take longer than usual to do reviews, but it makes them able to give honest instead of rushed scores (Deadlines REALLY affect whether you enjoy a game). I like to watch Spoony, Nostalgia Critic, AVGN, and others like them, but only for fun. Spoony hates a lot of stuff I just love and vice versa.

I usually go to Zero Punctuation, the Escapist reviewers, IGN, and gametrailers. I'll typically also look at comments and forums to get a feel for what other gamers might think of the game I'm considering.

Movie Bob does a very good job in reviewing movies from many different perspectives and even if he sais it is good you can base your own opinion on just what he has said during the 4 minutes because he explains everything so well, without spoiling...
