The main theme to Dragon Age: Origins. It's awesome! It's probably my favorite piece of music from games

I like too many to just pick one. But my favorite overall soundtracks would be from Obscure: The Aftermath, American McGee's Alice, and Shadow of the Colossus. All of them had beautiful and very fitting tracks. I can't pick a specific favorite though.

Yeah I have posted this song a lot. I suppose I should explain why I like it.

A big part of it is due to nostalgia. Pikmin is one of my favorite games, so I of course love it's OST. This was probably the first game I was actually immersed into, as strange as that sounds, and it's mostly due to this song. It's not a bombastic piece that fights to grab your attention. It's just a soothing melody that eases you into the game. It's very fitting for the area it plays in, and even the battle music is appropriate for the clumsy, awkward foes that inhabit the level. So I guess I like it mostly due to nostalgia, and the immersion it provided when I first played the game.

It certainly serves the purpose it was original composed for.

Also, how come the OP didn't even contribute to his own damn thread?

Considering how many times I've heard it repeated endlessly while making characters and leading games and whatnot, the fact I still enjoy the Baldur's Gate 2 theme speaks for itself.

I also absolutely love the Zerg 1 theme in Starcraft. Seriously, it's easily among the most atmospheric pieces done for a game and seems to perfectly define the Zerg as a race through sound alone.

It just suits the game so well
Ill second that J-man

But for me it has to be Fury sparks from Tales of Vesperia http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwH1hPMyVZU

Or the opening song also from Tales of Vesperia by Bonnie Pink http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llCbf8NdxMY&feature=related

Frog's Theme in Chrono Trigger is just epic. Especially when orchestrated:

And when I mention Frog's Theme, I just have to mention this awesome remix:

At the moment my favourite music in games is Burn My Dread from Persona 3 and Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec from FFVIII. Such an epic piece of music for Edea.

Without Doubt ... Doug The Moleman Music from Sam & Max...

The version that played on the disc/audioCD was a proper version of it - and it was absolutely excellent, almost like really sinister and seedy cabaret kletzmer music. Wonderful.

EDIT: Available HERE! [http://www.scummbar.com/mi2/SAMMAX/10%20-%20Doug%20the%20Moleman.mp3] in proper glorious form, courtesy of the LucasartSoundtracks website [http://soundtracks.mixnmojo.com/].

It might be a little cliche, but DAMN this song is awesome.

Especially playing it on Guitar Hero III.

The music in Halo is undeniably fantastic.

There's a piece in Halo 3 on the title screen with slow, sustained strings leading into a little piano sequence... my god it's gorgeous.

And then there's this masterpiece:

1.20- 2.10... sweet Jesus... epic, gorgeous musical magic

Agreed, agreed so much, each time i hear that i get goosebumps

By far one of the best ending tracks to any game I've played. All the music within Mass Effect was really really good.

And another random game song that I love.

Well anything I have on my Youtube profile will do for that.

A few examples:

If you can't smile to this song to ease you into the game, nothing can.

Decent game, great soundtrack, Al's Penthouse has a wonderful sad theme reflecting the bygone days of Cowboys.

Seriously, when the chanting hits a high around 1:05, you always hit the ramp in slo-mo during then, and it's EPIC.
