though it might not be the best of all time daemon ware has definitely revolutionized the tactical shooter genre and not so much valve but the team that made portal and its predecessor venecular drop just because their success story is so inspirational

Valve - 'cos they're just awesome.

4A Games/GSC Game World - Makers of Metro and STALKER, considering they're eastern based companies with virtually nothing compared to the big name dev's they did dayyyyummm well.

Bungie - Much as I dislike all the Halo's after CE they have a site that tracks ever single piece of information of every player, plus other stuffage.

Relic - Best RTS games. Ever. (well maybe not THE best but their damn awesome.)

Ubisoft - Neverending piles of awesomesauce!

Infinity Ward - Before the atrocity that was Modern Warfare 2.

Bungie, their games are more balanced and less glitchy at launch than most multiplayer games after two months of patches. Plus they do weekly updates, double xp weekends, and listen to their community really well.

Well, they're owned by Index Holdings, but I would still say the Persona games are made by Atlus, just like I'd say the Elder Scrolls games are made by Bethseda, and not ZeniMax.

Well, they're owned by Index Holdings, but I would still say the Persona games are made by Atlus, just like I'd say the Elder Scrolls games are made by Bethseda, and not ZeniMax.

I gotta agree with you and say valve. When one of the founders of the company is still more or less at the helm after about a decade, and saying that the attitude of the company is "what have I done for my customers lately?", you know you've got something special.
