I like Sega, even with Sonic disappointing time and time again (4 was nice, though). The recommendation I would put on the record is definitely Bioware. Never met a Bioware game I didn't like.

For me, It's Nintendo, Valve, Rockstar, Capcom, Naughty Dog and the old Rarware.

I havn't played a Bioware game, but I have heared from everyone and their dog that Bioware could make a game that would cure all the worlds diseases, end poverty, completely eradict crime and corruption and keep the worlds economy afloat with the contents of a septic tank used by a family of cannibals, so they at least get a mention.

This sounds really bitter, but I would have said Blizzard until they got taken over by Activision. >.< I'm not implying that the takeover is what made them awful, but it did happen around that time.

Seeing as how my most anticipated games ever are all being made by BioWare, I'm going to have to go with that one.

The Obvious:
-Valve
-Blizzard (Activision may have made them larger money-grubbing whores, but they still know how to make a great game)
-Eidos
The Defunct:
-Ion Storm (What a shame)
-Westwood
-KID (A visual novel developer; avert your eyes)
The Indie:
-The Behemoth (They made Castle Crashers)
-Introversion (They made Uplink and some other stuff)

Well different developers are better at different things.

Bioware for the narrative, Valve for the narrative and level design, Bethesda for exploration, somethin like that. A lot of indie developers are amazing too.
