Oh so I used more adjectives, therefore they have to have depth? I can think of over 50 adjectives for Chip from Sonic Unleashed, that doesn't make his character any more interesting and it certainly doesn't make it any less likely that I would set him on fire given half the chance.
You have a problem with the definition and context of the word depth. Think of a person in real life that you think is shallow. If I asked you to give me 50 words to describe them or describe them 150 words you'd easily meet that quota. And when you finally meet that quota, which you will, you're not going to suddenly go "oh I used a lot of describing words, therefore they must be an interesting person". Plus orphaned and lonely aren't words that add any depth to the character, they are just words that give the character an excuse to scream and flail their arms about. Also did you notice almost all of the main characters are orphans?
And just because Karol is useful in combat (which he isn't in the hands of an AI) doesn't make me hate him any less. Shao Kahn from Mortal Kombat is useful in combat, I'm still not going to invite him over for a deep meaningful conversation.
And Anime is full of stereotypes which is why I am very specific in which anime's I watch. Grab any character with the exception of Yuri, Repede and possibly Flynn and you can have at least 5 different characters from another anime which is almost exactly like them.
If you've seen better acting in some pornography compared to hollywood movies, than you've seen better voice acting in some animes.
Put charges in the air, I'm probably just going to leave you in the your defendng spot for days on end while I watch TV.
