no offense to anyone, but everyone black kid I know is literally an idiot, and tries to be "gangsta". I guess that's how stereotypes are formed, eh?

Everyone, it makes it easier to pre-form conclusions about what someones actions will be.

Your two comments do seem contradictory though, as I come from a family of cooks and I've never met a dumbass who was a decent chef.
They have more experience, what with being kept in the kitchen and having to make her man meals after his long hard day at work, yeah? Y'get me?
Again with the blanket statements. If a person is good at something because of experience (as with me and drumming), then wouldn't that disprove the argument of inherent talents based on gender? I've known quite a few women who weren't only terrible cooks, but useless in just about every other regard.

That being said, Paula Deen beats the shit out of that Bam! asshole any day of the week.

It can be hard to tell sometimes. What seems obvious to me can take everyone else a lot of time to figure out. I guess you just saw the flipside to that :)

I've always been of the opinion that everybody should be judged on the basis of their individual merits; even if they alter their behavior in order to fit into a particular group, they can't be criticized for doing so as that is the essence of human social behaviors. That said, lacrosse players are fucking douche bags.

Pretty much just French-Canadians. The stereotype is pretty much that French-Canadians, or "Peppers", as they are known around here for some reason, are ignorant, chain-smoking separatists who hate Canada and everyone who doesn't speak pure French. And I mean Quebecois-french, not original France-french. From what I've seen, they hate France too.

'Kay. Go here [http://www.rawilson.com/illuminatus.html], and scroll down to Never Whistle While You're Pissing, and read Appendix Teth.

To distill, we 'damn' anything that we categorize simply by categorizing it, because only that part that fits the categorization is properly categorized. Damn the rest!

There are as many damned things as there are things, simply because we have to name things. Does my 'name' really encompass all that I am, or merely put me in a category with things similarly 'named'?

i hate stereotypes and people who make them. but its hard to because i also hate people who fall into those stereotypes. i mean i'm mexican and i dont think i fall into the mexican stereotype (at least i hope not). but me being mexican i can say that some mexicans annoy the shit out of me. they're always yelling, they're stupid sometimes. like for instance in one of my classes this one girl went what are we supposed to do, right after the teacher JUST said what we were supposed to do. i try not to be rascist or stereotypic but people just make it to hard. and yea i agree with AvsJoe. i alsways feel okay with stereo typing blonds, sluts, douchebags and idiots
Mexicans really do follow stereotypes, though they don't always wear ponchos and sombreros and get drunk on tequila as everyone thinks we do
