I honestly don?t know enough homosexual characters in fiction to have a favourite. So I?ll just say Fumi Manjoume, the main character of Sweet Blue Flowers (or Aoi Hana, for all you weeaboos out there :p).

Also, I've got to add the Joker. He's definitely gay.
Not gay, just Bat-sexual.

Omar, probably the best character in the entire series of the wire. Him being gay just seems to make him even more awesome.

I don't really get this one either, he totally had the hots for Dukat's daughter.
Were you a latecomer to the show? Although I saw her as attracted to him I always felt he had a more paternal attitude toward her - I wonder whether that's just because I'd already seen several seasons of him flirting with Bashir when she joined the cast.

Wait up; Rainbow Dash is gay?
Awesome if true but you're not just saying this because she...
killed Starscream?
A female shouldn't have to be a lesbian to kick ass after all. That's the only real reason I'd like to see the new Lara Croft not be gay.

It's actually a running gag that people think White is gay, but he's not.

I heard the screenwriter for Fang and Vanille also wrote Asellus' route in Saga Frontier. Hence, as far as I'm concerned the implied (not-implied?) relationship between Fang and Vanille was deliberate.
Never played Saga Frontier.

However, while there is no dialog on the topic, every cut-scene where Vanille and Fang interact physically (and several where they don't) shows that they have a relationship. I think it goes fairly far beyond implied. Yes, I'm talking about the scene where Vanille gropes Fang. Also this:

That pose is a direct visual reference to another similar pose between a lesbian couple in Japanese culture. If how they act the entire game didn't confirm it, that pose at the end does. They're a couple.

While I did only watch the series this year, I did watch it all in order. I sort of got the impression that he was attracted to her but never really acted on it on account of the age difference and the whole her being Dukat's daughter thing.

Looking at the Star Trek wiki though, apparently the actor who played Garak originally played the character as gay and wanted him to be gay, but the writers eventually shoehorned in that romance to appease the network or something.

Off the top of my head (probably forgetting some excellent film characters because my head is stuck in television/books at the moment)...

Overwhelming #1:

Omar Little from The Wire. Not only is he a deep, rich, fully realized and well written character with a tremendous arc, he's about as far from a stereotypically flamboyant homosexual as it's possible to get.
This, a million times.
What a beautiful man.
If only he weren't gay, living in America and imaginary.
Otherwise, I totally would.

Agron from the Spartacus TV show

Not only is he as bad-ass and fight ready as the best of them, but his gay relationship with Nashir is treated like any other relationship on the show, by both the characters and the writers
Fuck ya! Agron is really badass. He might actually be one of the best written characters for the show, too. Well, one of the least one-dimensional of the gladiators, anyways. I wish he got more screen time.

I would pick Wallace from Scott Pilgrim, I love that guy, but I would say Lafayette from True Blood would be my main choice, the guy doesn't give or take any shit about what others think about him, just take this scene for example

Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy were heavily implied to be together in the comics, though I don't think it was ever confirmed beyond a somewhat vague comment Harley made regarding "playing".

There's a depressing lack of choices to be honest. Few characters over the years have been graced with admittance of nonstandard sexuality, and while it's been improving over the last decade or two, few exist in a state of full and confirmed homosexuality whilst simultaneously being well developed with personality and depth of character.

I can immediately name a good handful of favourite bisexuals, on the other hand. Jeanette Voerman, Velvet Velour, and Heather Poe from Bloodlines spring instantly to mind. Susan Ivanova & Talia Winters from Babylon 5 - the series could have been quite different if they hadn't gotten rid of Talia, but I suppose Marcus wouldn't have been able to be so damnedly charming if that were the case.

Yeah I know. I just wanna point out the direction the screenwriter took was deliberate. It's noteworthy to point out during the conversation between Serah and Vanille, Serah used the term "大切な人" (significant other) when referring to Fang's relationship with Vanille. For the English version however, they used "friend", well it could work but feels not as strong as Japanese version.

Let's hope their subtext won't be toned down in FFXIII-3.

Anthony "Gay Tony" Prince from GTA IV: The Ballad of Gay Tony.
He's also my favorite character from the entire GTA series, he feels very human while at the same time fits in perfectly with the crazy GTA world.

Edit: I feel almost ashamed for forgetting about Ocelot from the Metal Gear Solid series. Again, also my favorite character form the series. He was always winning throughout the whole thing, even when he was "losing", he played the whole world on it's nature to achieve his goal and fooled everybody around him, which all started because he had a huge crush on Big Boss.

Huh. So it was the American translators who took out the lesbian text! I didn't realize.

Also... is Saga Frontier worth playing for Asellus? You caught my interest with your mention that she had the same writers as Vanille.

I'd have to find it used or on PSN or something, and I'm not entirely certain what kind of RPG Saga Frontier is.
