It just me or has X-Play completely hit the trashcan? Back in the day, I loved X-Play, back when it was just 30 minutes and only had games, not bullshit that isn't funny. Ever.
X-Play lost it for me when, in a review of a Guitar Hero game, they claimed that it was the first guitar game of it's kind.

I don't trust reviewers. Most of them say what they are paid to say.

If I like the look of something, I buy it. If I don't like the look of it, I leave it alone. I'm capable of making my own choices, so I don't have any time/use for reviewers.

I trust them all to have their own opinions. Do I watch or play what they think I should? Hell no!

...

One exception, Moviebob seems pretty good at what he does. He was bang on about Inception being awesome and I've seen a few of the other movies he recommends.

I didn't like Inglorious Bastards as much as he did though.

Whatever, to each his own. No reviewer owns my soul yet!

No one really. Maybe an Escapist Staff review if I am really on the fence. Though so far I have enjoyed most of the games I have bought. I really don't listen to Yahtzee as anything other than cheap amusement like someone else said, especially since he started pointing out things that are wrong with the game that have a toggle in the option menu to turn on and off.

I don't really trust reviews anymore. The one's who come out with them early enough to be a deciding factor are also the one's who consider anything below a 7.0 to be E.T. bad.

As far as reviews I REPSECT it'd have to be Escapist reviews and some from a site I frequent called gamersushi. Maybe X-play as well because Adam Sessler tries so hard to remain a gamer on T.V.

I only trust my friends and past experiences with the series for games. Movies, however, I trust Ebert, Chipman, and the guys at Cinesploitation. I also kind of trust the AV Club but to a much lesser extent than the previous three.

I tend to go with Yatzhee. Mainly for laughs, but when he actually likes a game, I tend to go check it out more than if he didn't. Don't get the feeling that I base all my opinions off of him, I do play a lot of game that he just won't even touch ever again.

Well for games I trust Game Informer. It seems to me like they aren't really biased and examine every game fairly. I listen to Yahtzee mostly for the entertainment, but he does bring up some points about games and so he's kinda a minor thing. I used to listen to MovieBob but it seems like he's been going downhill, and I never 100% trusted him anyway. For my movies I listen to spill.com just because I've agreed with just about every review they're done.

Metacritic, I guess. Although not a reviewer in and of itself, it balances them all out which helps a lot when making decisions.

Well, not games, but to date, I have agreed with everything that MovieBob has said.

If Yahtzee likes a game, I will usually give it a look. Good Game are usually quite good, but the new episodes are starting to get a little crap.

I don't really trust any particular reviewer, because they may have different taste than me.

Instead, I got to Meta Critic, read 4 high, 3 medium, and 4 low reviews, and then spend hours on GameFAQs trying to figure out the general consensus on the game. Sadly this often leads to certain parts of the game being spoiled, but at least I've never bought a game I didn't like.

X-Play is a great source for their review, especially because their scoring system is dirt simple and makes them unafraid to give a game a low score. Like at Gametrailers, you're hard pressed to find a game scoring lower than a 6.0, but with X-Play, you see them giving out tons of 1/5 and 2/5s. Hell, some games (Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing) don't even GET a score because they're so bad.

I trust me to review games, since my opinion is one I hold in good stead.
I bet you tend to agree with your reviewer alot, too.

That's pretty much how it should be done, every other critic and reviewer is there to entertain and inform, 'good'/'bad' are subjective, but the features in a game aren't, so when Yahtzee says "this is a first person shooter", I trust him on atleast that. (Actually with contra standards coming up that might not always be the case)

Usually, I read a bunch of reviews from the community, then listen to Yahtzee to point out the bad parts of games, and then judge for myself whether or not those bad parts would outweigh any fun I would have based on the things I know about myself. I rarely pay attention to the "good" parts of reviews because its usually the bad things that are important to know about.
What this guy says.

Do people really trust Yahtzee that much?
I was always under the impression that his reviews mainly consisted of nit-picking the shit out of said game and sexual innuendo.
Gametrailers for me are quite trustworthy, and I did respect Gamespot's opinion before they got rid of Jeff Gerstmann for giving Kane and Lynch a mediocre score.
