I trust yahtzee and movie bob because they usually take the bigger approach to what they review by looking at it in relation to the medium and society as a whole. However, we're not always on the same wavelength because I don't have a 360/PS3 and don't see eight movies a week; so our frame of reference isn't similar (for instance, I actually liked the Saboteur because I hadn't played any of the games that it was ripping off).
The Escapist reviews are pretty good, but admittedly I don't watch read them unless the video gets me interested enough. Otherwise I usually look a game up on gamefaqs, then read all of the worst reviews and average what I read against how many good scores it gets against bad scores. For movies, well, I'll see what I want and then wait to rent anything else that couldn't pique my interest enough to shell out that money but nonetheless raised an eyebrow. I don't see things in the theaters very often, but if it's terrible then I'm willing to accept the responsibility for having gone to see it in the first place.
Bottom line, I won't know if I like it until I see it, and no one can tell me otherwise.
