For years he has been raising an army of his own kind in the American wilderness, but now it is time to strike. while you do make sense about the huamans being shown as animals you also have to consider the fact that the covenant instil fear at such a level, the humans are forced to act that way. If you remember the character jonas the big butcher he was unable to escape because of his size knowing that his death will come soon. The bit that made me almost cry was the fact he dicided not to fight against his fate but to rather help all the refugess by giving them food so they dont starve to death. If anything it also shows the good nature of humans n this story.
