I didn't, but that's on account of family traditions forbidding me from buying myself "gift-worthy" items during November and pre-Christmas December. That said, I will inevitably receive it as a Christmas present.
(Pulls out crystal ball) I foresee a sweater, possibly yellow.

Need to be certain to specifically mention the platform you want it on. It's no fun getting the PS3 version of the game if you have an X360.

I didn't unfortunately, but only because of money. I can't afford it any the moment... but my birthday is in 4 weeks so i'l ask for that or buy it with whatever money I get or get it for Christmas.

:( I WANNA PLAY IT!

Considering it's only 2am here in the central time zone of the states most people (save those who went to a midnight release) have not had the opportunity to venture out and get a copy.

Am I getting it though, meh probably not, but it's still fun to join in the release day hype that's taking place.

Heh. I've been making Christmas lists for over a decade. I've got that well in hand. :)

I'm not going to be getting it for a while, actually. I want to wait until I can upgrade to a computer that can run it on Ultra settings.

So, in the meantime ... *sigh* ...

I'll get it at some point, maybe ask for it for Christmas, but for now I'm fine, especially since I'll be picking up my Saints Row preorder in a few days.

I didn't buy Skyrim because:

I do not own either a PS3 or a 360

My netbook - which is my only computer - does not have a DVD-ROM drive (I do plan to fix that issue when I have the funds), nor could it probably be able to run the game

You really had to make a thread for this? Really? Just to tell us you didn't buy something because you don't like it? I didn't buy a mars bar today. Why? I don't like them.

In response to your question, who didn't buy skyrim today?

Probably a few billion people.

I bought it yesterday! hurrah! And I'm loving it to bits.
this is more along the lines that people who don't really like the game also if you love it so much why don't you just go back and play it
Because I have a son to feed and a medical course to study for?

Or I can sit here and watch you make worthless contributions. If you don't like the game, tell us why, be interesting! Don't just say "blah blah blah i didnt get it" and write two sentences.
i didn't because i the TES games have always been to open ended which while some people like i don't because my brain doesn't realy work well without a main objective. This is how i have always been it's just there is no real over reaching objective in the game and even if there is one it realy isn't stated out clearly enough.

I don't even know what it's supposed to be about, and the Steam store page isn't very informative.

Also, the price. $90 for one game? Who the hell do they think is going to buy it? Bill Gates?

Combine the amazingly vague store page with the utterly insane price and one can't help but be suspicious that the game is rubbish and the developers are desperate to make their money back in any way possible.

Now, I'm not saying it actually is rubbish, because there's no way for me to actually know that without trying it, but with a price tag of $90, I'm not going to be finding out any time soon.

I bought Skyrim but won't be playing it because my computer is terrible.

Rather, I bought three copies for friends, one for my father and ow my wallet.

I went to the midnight 5 hours ago, but I didn't even pre-order the game. It was fun, and a bunch of my friends were there to get it, and I made some new ones waiting for it to come out. There was at least 100 people there.

After playing seven hours of Skyrim, I can tell you that it is certainly more focused this time. The main story line is great and I was never overwhelmed to the point to where I was in Morrowind where you were told very little.

It's a perfect balance.

Im really excited for it but Im also wary of the potential number of bugs on release it may have. Couple with the fact that Im still playing BF3 at the moment and have NFS The Run to look forward to next week, Im content to wait a week or two to see how things are once the dust settles.
