As he would doubtless say.... Fantastic!

Apparently I've got Ben Barnes' hair, but Viggo Mortensen's stubble :p

I prefer, as someone who likes their self esteem, to view it as they resemble me.

They're just celebrities, guys. People.
They were here first though, in your case anyway.
And?
Your point being?

I'm merely making the point that more money, better looks, being in movies, whatever (although I'm a huge fan of Viggo's) does not make them any better or worse.
The western culture of deifying celebrities has got to be one of the most crippling weaknesses in western societies that I can see. That and the shallow materialism and the repulsive corporate culture of greed mass consumerism and the projection of that corporate media's definition of beauty is nothing less than grotesque.

Why in the name of God must people torture themselves because they don't look like that famous person what'shisname?

It's not something I have any tolerance for.
Everyone who constantly compares themselves unfavourably to an air brushed, sculpte super model or actor is basically making themselves more and more unhappy.

This thread is for the laugh, and I'll get back to that shortly, but "they were here first" somehow qualifying them above me as a person?
No.
Just no.

I know that's not where you were coming from, but I feel I need to make myself perfectly clear.

How many people on these forums feel bad about themselves because they don't match up to the ideal phsyiques/looks/ luck with the opposite sex than the celebrities thrown in their faces?

Nearly everyone in my family and several of my friends constantly feel the need to point this out to me.
Not that they're wrong. Far from it. Even though I am terrible at comparing faces, I can see the resemblance. Just the glasses are the only thing I really see different.

It got irritating after the second time.

Apparently I look like the result of a love-child between Jared Leto and Johnny Depp. Or so I've been told...

Hell if I know. Don't really look like anyone. Should probably be sad, but eh.

WHY!!! I don't look like anyone, and you people get to look like atttractive and famous people. Curse my bland and unappealing features, Curse The-*dramatic extension of vowel sound*-m!

EDIT: Also, Jared can grow a freaking awesome beard, of which I am insanely jealous right now!

OT: Yeah, I don't look like anyone (or I've never been told I look like anyone, though my friends, in all their infinite bastard-ness, said I make them think of Sheldon from Big bang Theory (mentally, not physically).
at least people don't look at you like you're a murderer or something.
i, on the other hand, have to deal with people giving me frightend looks.
a few people have actually asked me NOT to kill them!

Umm, I didn't mean to spark a rant, but it's generally convention to put the person who is older as the basis of comparison. People don't look like their younger relatives, their younger relatives look like them because they were here first. It's generally said that Keanu Reeves resembles Paul Mounet. It would be incorrect to say that Paul Mounet resembles Keanue Reeves because Paul Mounet looked like himself before Keanu Reeves was born.

I have heard that I look like that kid from "2 and a half men" but I seriously see no resemblance.

Some kid once asked me if I was Tom Cruise. I look nothing like the bastard so i'm certain he was just being a smartass. Other than that i've never been compared to a celebrity before.

Well according to the facebook doppleganger application, Patrick Swayze.

I, however, rigged it by choosing him from the list as I wanted to make a series of jokes about dirty dancing. I thoroughly regret doing that as at that time I didn't know he had died.

But apparently, according to like three maybe four people, I look like Andy Samburg from saturday night live / lonely island.

I've been told I look like Shaun Morgan, when I have my hair long and straight. Except you know, it's not dyed an awesome red.

I see your point, of course.

It wasn't my intention to sound like it was a rant and I'm sorry if that sounded like it was directed at you, but at the same time, it's something I feel strongly about.

My twin, hoho!

On a more serious note: Noone. Never been told I look like anyone. I can't figure out whether this is positiv or negativ. I have the same first and last name of a famous downhill skiier(?), does that count?
