Who else has a geography fetish?

I absolutely love looking at maps and photos of places. Every bit of them. Poring over the details, careful not to drool too much or else the maps will be ruined... thankfully, digital maps have solved that somewhat...

Now I'm addicted to Geograph UK [http://geograph.org.uk]. It has photos of virtually everywhere in Britain, and isn't confined to the streets. Lord help me, I can't stop...

Personally, I like to see my geography up close and in person. I've got about 30 or so of the continental 48 done, and Hawai'i.

I do like "exploring" on Google maps sometimes, I find it interesting sometimes to just follow random roads and look up random information about the towns I go through.

I love the geography in my area if that counts. I like learning about all the mountains we have and what not, though I live in a pretty awesome area geographically. In every other way it isn't too great, but the geography is awesome.

It's Dartmoor, but they do look very similar. The only bad thing is that I'm quite near the area where the army practice shooting each other, which is problematic if you get lost.

As I geographer,I feel obligated to highlight that geography does not only involve maps and photographs (I haven't used a map in geography for at least a year)..it covers a huge range from rives to wars to policing.

but as a person, then yes I do enjoy maps and photographs. I actually love to look at modern vs vintage maps to see how places have changed!

As do I. Maps are just my favourite part of geography. I also like talking about landscape features. Crater lakes and river deltas, for instance. Or the topography of the deepest ocean trenches...
