Who else has a geography fetish?

As I geographer,I feel obligated to highlight that geography does not only involve maps and photographs (I haven't used a map in geography for at least a year)..it covers a huge range from rives to wars to policing.

but as a person, then yes I do enjoy maos and photographs. I actually love to look at modern vs vintage maps to see how places have changed!

As do I. Maps are just my favourite part of geography. I also like talking about landscape features. Crater lakes and river deltas, for instance. Or the topography of the deepest ocean trenches...

Fair enough! I used to love the deepest trenches (still do really) but recently my eyes have moved skywards to the idea of space

Ha HA, I knew there had to be someone out there who had the same animalistic lust for knowledge of the globe that I poses. Yes sir I too, love to look over the maps of the world, learn their capital cities and other useless facts about their world, ah tis a good life. Also being Australian, it continually frustrates me that most of the maps I ever end up reading have greenland looking almost the same, if not larger than us. Western Australia on its own is larger than greenland you fools, get your facts right God Damnit, also Queensland is bigger than Alaska, just putting it out there.

And to answer your question, I am not sure. It just fascinates me to know that we are nothing much more than a speck of dust within the universe
